if you read what I say in my proper post i have proper points. One or two words of mine were picked on because what I say is more probably true but no one comments on that

tell me one thing live can do that other software cannot. Keep in your mind I talk about the end result not the method. Prove me wrong 8O

The end result, not the method?
I guess you can compare every piece of audio software to a couple of pots to bang on and a tape recorder.....
The end result is that you will get sound.

What the hell do you even mean by end result?
Off course it's the method that count's. It's called LIVE.
All DAW's can be used to make music in. But they all handle it in a different way.

And you're telling me you can get the same end result regardless of the method? I know I can't.

just an observation:

everytime i see an ableton press video or demo clip i always see Robert and/or Gerhard etc. using a powerbook. i doubt ableton will abandon apple.
both companies will mutually evolve and benefit one another to some degree.

(such as the case for the last 7-8 years or whatever)

There are dozens of things you can do in Live that other DAW's cant. Follow actions and all the tricks you can pull of with it comes to mind as one example.
But with end result i think you mean a song.
You can make a song on a playstation
And that was your initial question as i understand it.

The problem is not that somebody can't point out the uniqueness of Live to you.
The problem is that you can't understand it.
So no point in trying to argue with me.

Show me one DAW that has something even remotely close to Live clips

dude the computers we are using are very capable but ableton seems to not care that their program runs sluggish at best. so the fix is to buy a new computer? fu** that we have good equipment and we bought "good" software that should work top notch all the time. I don't know about you but I don't have 2 grand laying around to buy a new laptop just so i can get ableton to run faster when it should already be working like a horse. I've only had this g4 for like 6months now I'm not buying a new computer for several years at least.
I have had my dual G5 now for a year and a half. I have also had the same two grand put aside waiting for a competitive powerbook, for about as long.

I have since lost my patience with my own impatience.

If there is ever a preformance increase for g5's I will be IMPRESSED. If there isn't eventually dual processor support, I will be SHOCKED.

radeon wrote: All you say is weird. If i make music with 2 blips i can use a 386 running 8mb ram. So you can "get stuff" done. I know your not running 30 audio tracks 6 virtual synth and tons of eq and compresor 3 space revrb with latency on which i can do easi in logic on a dual g5.
Dude. These are some very different reverbs. Also: Logic is not a realtime tool in by any means. You can't even bounce two f'n tracks at the same time! 8O

By pro 7, do they mean problematic prostate protrusions upon progressively protracting prohibitive prom-music?

As far as reverbs are concerned! Reverbs are all different things all together!
While I could concievably run one hundred instances of it on my G5 at once, I doubt that my system would be happy generating massive, dynamic, real-time adjustments to several parameters.

Also, Logic is specifically built to work effectively on a G5.

Seriously. Let's see Logic gain a universally accepted status of "stable-Live-performance-tool"
