Live start playing and then stop and get freezed

Post by Rayko » Tue Dec 06, 2005 5:12 pm

It happens with one track. I press play and it sounds for one second maybe and then the sound stop (while the play icon is still green). When this happens i can´t stop or play or doing anything. i guess in some way the live file get corrupted.

Anyone happen the same?

What system are you using?
Which OS?
What version of Live?
How much is your CPU meter in Live when this happens?

Try the new beta that is posted at the top of this thread. It may resolve your problem. But i'm not sure.

And could you explain me why live crashed as much as it already does in this ver. Have you faced the same problem?

Thanks

Live doesn't crash on me. I'm using osx 10.4.3.
The problems you have are probably something specific like a bad plugin or something.
Live has been very stable for me. And it looks like Ableton has fixed the bugs i was still experiencing. (like midi timing and the arp......)

I have downloaded the beta version but i still have the same problem. I´m very dsissapointed because i really like this software (I don´t want to talk about the money i have spended on it), and now i have a lot of problems. I don´t understand why people says live is hard as a "rock" (for me this is not true). Hope ableton team will fix this soon!!!!

on a PC with Win XP and haven't had any issues since installing 5.0.2...

Don't know a whole lot about MACs but i've install ableton on my GF's G5 and so far haven't seen any issues with it, but haven't used it alot on hers.

I spend several hours at a time in front of my PC with no issues. Well unless I try to use this Old VST that I have and keep forgetting that it crashes Ableton. :)

Hi Rayko,

if you use the beta and the beta crashes you should get a bug reporting package created on your desktop. Please send this to me.

regards,
/Alex

I used to have the same problem. It turns out that my M-Audio driver was not updated to work on 10.4.3. The solution was to go back to 10.4.2 and re-install the driver. The problems went away. I am not sure if this helps but I thought it would give some sort of way to fix the problem. All along I thought it was Live with the problem and it wasn't. Just a thought.

I've had the same problem, but need to confirm tonight. Live 5.0.2 never randomly crashed on me (it would sometimes crash because of Pluggo). I'm running on OS X 10.3.9. I launched the beta version last night, loaded a set from 5.0.2 (pure Audio tracks, no plug-ins, nothing fancy at all). Live felt very sluggish. Load times were slow. Random CPU spikes. And then after trying to close Live, it crashed (this has never happened to me). I don't see an increase in performance GUI-wise either. But I haven't spent enough time with the beta version to verify anything. It could be a placebo effect. I know a lot of hard work went into this release. I'm just reporting the bad stuff (that's what we're supposed to be doing).
