I am so excited!
Can you imagine what a quad intel would perform like?
There is no emoticon to convey me gasping for little breathes of air...

Better yet I wrote a song slagging on Apple, DJ's and Ableton!Jordan Vesteyo wrote: Now childern start slagging on Apple and the Big dj's.......... Or you could just shut up and make music...........
g4/5's will benefit from this dual cpu support said Ableton.ar10003 wrote:Or Dual Core PowerPC aswell. Just got a G5 2.3Gh dual-core and the wording of the live 6 press release hints that the dual processor optimization is for Mactel's only, which would be a crying shame... well for me at least. Can anyone confirm either way?
Getting Live to run on both processors on my machine would be AMAZING.
Right on, I would agree when Ableton starts thinking 64 bit i will more then want to consider another upgrade to Live 6. As of this moment Ableton is running out of serious ideas for improvements. 64 bit seems like the last frontier for Ableton.Machinesworking wrote:Better yet I wrote a song slagging on Apple, DJ's and Ableton!Jordan Vesteyo wrote: Now childern start slagging on Apple and the Big dj's.......... Seriously, I'm happy. My only complaint is that I was planning on waiting a year and getting whatever monster laptop Apple release as second generation Intel. This way Native Instruments are done porting, and Reactor is ready!
So yeah it's pretty cool, but I hope I don't break down, next years model will likely be 64 bit which translates to a larger system bus, among other advantages.
While I understand your request for 64 bit, I have two issues with this post. First and foremost, as soon as you start thinking like there's nothing left to improve or that there are any "final frontiers" at all, you get too comfortable and you cease to innovate. In fact, if we thought like that 5 years ago, there would be no Live at all.12micsn1 wrote:Right on, I would agree when Ableton starts thinking 64 bit i will more then want to consider another upgrade to Live 6.
