can't output to BCR2000 using usb midi driver
can't output to BCR2000 using usb midi driver
having some problems with my new BCR2000, wondering if any other users have had similar difficulty.
I installed the latest USB midi drivers from the Behringer site, and Live receives midi from the BCR ok, but doesn't transmit anything back to it (checked the midi preferences settings in Live). Also had problems updating the firmware and sending new presets, neither Behrigner's firmware update utility nor BC-Edit can see the device. Tried sending firmware updates and new presets using midi-ox, but still no joy. The BCR was in USB mode 1, also tired USB-3 (saw a post on the forum somewhere suggesting this), still didn't work.
Then i tried putting the BCR into one of the stand alone modes and hooking it up to the PC via another midi interface. Changed midi settings in Live, now it does send parameter updates to the BCR. I could also update firmware and send new presets this way.
I guess I could just use it like this, but it seems strange that the USB driver didnt' work properly. Anyone have similar problems?
Thanks,
John

mine works fine on Win XP Pro, except the editing software is crap.
is it powered up when you launch Live?
in the devices menu, USB[1] and USB[2] show up, you should pick USB[1] and make sure it's set to send, receive and track midi.
Dunno, maybe re-install the drivers? Did you reboot after installing the driver?

i tried what u did today. id love to haev the devices show up in XP as BCR2000 instead of USB AUDIO DEVICE, thats why i tried it.
i had the same results you did...so u need to rollback the driver.
in windows, go to SYSTEM, DEVICE MANAGER, SOUND VIDEO GAME CONTROLLERS, and see the BCR. double click it, go to driver tab, and click rollback driver. restart, and your device will show up in your apps again.

Good tip, didn't work out for me unfortunately. I can't get back to the generic usb driver, it says "no driver files have been backed up for this device" when i try to roll back the driver. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling on a different usb port, in the hopes of getting the USBAUDIO device, but it's not happening, it recognises the device as a BCR2000 now, and insists on installing the driver for it, otherwise it won't work, reporting "this device is not configured correctly" in the device manager.
pretty stumped, any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,
john.

also
try going todevice manager, right clicking the BCR, and uninstalling.
unplug usb connection, then reboot, and plug in via usb.
u should get the normal native windows driver popups at that point.
but u still also want to solve this, becuase if it works, we will see the name of the device in our preferences instead of "usb audio device..."
i have a bcr, bcr, uc33, uc17...so it gets hairy with that many "usb audio devices" !!!

really glad to see other people having this problem. I was tearing my hair out.,
I bought a bcr2000 second hand (almost new) from ebay. plugged her in, she worked fine without updating the drivers.
Then I installed driver 1.1.1.1 whihc was on a disk the seller had included. Instant problems. Win XP home can see the bcr device. But Ableton, the Behringer B-Control editor can't, the B-control firmware update can't. Twiddling a knob shows no singla in Live either.
I thought I'd been sold a dud.
Then in a panic, I did a windows xp home device manager Update Driver, and let windows search for the driver itself. It of course installs the generic device, USB Audio Device 1, 2 and 3. The B-control firmware upgrader can now see the device.
I then updated the firmware to 1.10 (which it already was on). Noi problems there either.
Still can't get the Behringer editor to see the device though (as it requires diver 1.1.1.0 or higher to do that).
My verdict - the driver doesn't work. This is NOT acceptable. I have UC33-e, an Evolution 249c keyboard, and FBB1010 and a Trigger Finger, and I need these all hooked up and fucntioning and clearly visible in the settings.
Anyone got any solutions to this? Know any other forums to check?
