I/O AudioVisual - 2 new tracks!!
bah I dont knw what's going on - I just checked my space and VLC comes up with the 1st frame and just stays there - the 2 blue networking lights show something downloading - so maybe it has to wait ages but that's hardly streaming is it!?
I keep trying QT when I get fed up but it really hates my sound card and just stutters
I just wish people wouldnt use MOV files - but that's just me...

well dammit, forge, I don't know what's up with that. grr...
thanks for letting me know, though. If it's a problem for you, I'm sure it's a problem for lots of people. We're in the process of setting up a new flash-based site, and want to make sure it is accessible to all. We'll investigate this matter further...

Ok, got the new website up, so that should resolve the issues with the videos. They now load with very little delay. They're under the AV section...
Bump for da new tracks!

ethios4!
what's the feature / are features that you would like to see in an application like resolume that you haven't found when you develop such audiovisual productions?
workflow-wise, I mean. something like 'i want to import a bunch of serial fotos on a midi-mapped keyboard'
what bottlenecks (software) did you experience producing audiovisuals?
uhh... junkyard gospel is cool
ve a good time

Sarrass, I PM'd you with a lengthy list
nfms, nice site and nice work! That is inspiring! We are working on all-original video content now, as we should be. The audience rarely knows the difference, but all-original content is so much more interesting, and we will be able to achieve exactly what we are after. Good point!

alameda looks really good
ethios4,
i was extremely entertained by your work with alameda. props.
would you consider yourself a dj?
or a vj?
working in both audio and vidio mediums, how do you classify yourself?
also...
you mention Resolume. could you/would you speak on garagecube's modul8?
did you know it recently went ver. 2.5?

Glad you like it! Alameda kicks my ass every time I watch it
Check out our site if you like - IOAV.COM....lots more move clips there, including excerpts from a live mix over the summer (Wakarusa Festival) - the DVD of that performance is fantastic, and available in our store.
For studio work, I work with audio almost exclusively. My partner, vj TranceKoder, handles all the video work, including the video in these movies.
For live performance, I mostly handle audio and he mostly handles video, although we both have a certain amount of control over the AV output, and are starting to blur the lines more and more. There's not really a good set of words for dealing with the kind of thing we do....some AV artists use the term AVPA, or AVJ - we definitely prefer audiovisual (with no slash between
....I don't feel the terms have really settled down at this point, and neither have specific AV genres clearly emerged yet. We are often searching for words to describe the almost synaesthetic effect of hearing/seeing art like this, and then again, thats why we do what we do...it reaches closer to that which is beyond words....
We use Resolume and VJamm for live performance, but Dallas (vj TranceKoder) really likes Modul8 in the studio. We'd use Modul8 live if we had a Mac laptop...video output is fantastic! Very tight app.... A few nights ago we were running Modul8 and Live on his G5 dual 1.25 w/4GB RAM....sending MIDI from Live over IAC to Moudl8....incredible audiovideo sync going on!
I'm thinking we'll produce video for "Finding the Sacred" next, and then start producing AV work as AV from the start, rather than creating video after the audio is done.

really looking forward to it
ethios4,
coming from someone else that majors in audio, while trying to shift into 'that which is beyond words', your comments only reinforce more my personal pursuits.
and i'm glad you feel OK about modul8, it supports my findings for vidio performance art on the mac platform. but i suppose resolume and MSP make a kick ass combination also. the ambitious would pick up both... it seems the audiovidio realm is making some noise (and visualizing it too).
thanks again for you comments and good luck on your workflow change.
really excited and looking forward to more of your 'work', if you can call it work.
haha

I build a audio/vj app as my graduation project last year, using Reaktor and MESO/vvvv (kinda like maxMSP only freeware)
info can be found here: , no footage online right now, though you can see a screenshot of the footage in the interface
http://student.cmd.hro.nl/0754869/avi/index2.php
You could use the inbuild sequencers in Reaktor to control the sound and the visuals (generated using vvvv / realtime 3d) reacted to it. Also there are seperate visual controls (2 inputs / effects etc)
fun to do, gonna do a Master next year, maybe continue with it or make more stuff like that
Audio visual is the way to go
