thank you for representing all the reasons why threads become retarded on this board in one single post

I also never said that guys like you aren't using Live in creative ways.

There are DJ types who are basically asking for traktor. Maybe not in the threads you read, but it's not a generalization, thats my point.

I read ALDJ (and other live forums), i can relate to not having the features i need. (Why do you think i keep coming up with workarounds?)
And it's understandable that some people are upset.
But people who think that a 50 person large company can turn out software like the big boys need a reality check.

One says Live isn't Live anymore, others say that DJ's weren't considered,.....
Then there are those who are happy about multicore, racks, video,......

There's always something good or wrong.

We could keep this debate up for ages if we really wanted to.

-Edit-- Missread the context a bit. But the post can stay.
Sorry if i angered you before you get to this bit ;)
We more or less agree, both passionate enough to speak up.

Live can be used in so many ways. It can also be represented by so many persons.

no man im not angry at all!! actually im never angry on here period
its just text, opinions come out blunt sometimes - no problem

in actual fact i consider you part of a very short list of people that i know of who are on the cutting edge of using this program and pushing it hard.

so its not like everything i post is aimed at you either, by a long shot

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/C ... focus.html Looks like it could be abletons little brother. VST support vinyl or cd control . Looks as if it has warp markers as well. Being that I use Ableton to produce and Traktor to DJ it seems to have everything people have been asking for in traktor with some of the functionality of ableton . There is a screen shot if you click in the bottom left corner.[/url]

you neglected to quote the next line of my post, which stated it was aimed aat griefers in general.

motherfuckers havent even used the thing and are already slagging it for a million different reasons. or acting like their own pet wishlist items were the most important features to implement.

Hi LM:

Just out of curiosity, is it possible in your opinion for people to talk about shortcomings -- without it being the whining you're talking about?

Thanks,
rs

absolutely, of course, live can certainly be improved.

but it's just annoying to see a ton of headlines slagging a piece of soft that most of us haven't even used yet.

A DJ should know ALL their tracks inside and out. They should know who produced it too, hell they should even know who was in the studio car parka t the moment the master was cut!
If it ain't broke, don't try to mix it!

Live is a very diverse program with many ways 2 use it depending upon wht you mainly want to use it for.

I think the thing that would please just about everyone is a series of DVD tutorials each based on the different ways folks use live. One for Hip Hop & loop based music production, one for studio recording, one for DJing & creating mashups, one for Kid Beyonding aka alternative live triggering & performance, one for original sound and instrument creation & manipulation/experimentation, one for techno & glitch/IDM production, and one for whatever the hell else I've forgotten you can with this thing.

I'm willing to bet that your average live user uses it for only one of these things & knows 50% of how to do what they do with this program. If more folks knew more about what you can do in live then would probably complain less about what new features aren’t included for our specific use.

Creating music with live is journey unto itself (yeah I know lame).

Also like AdamJay said 6 is still in Alpha.
