This allows you establish a patch change at the beginning of the clip. But, how can you make several patch changes within the clip? ...and then edit the envelope after you record and go in and change let's say the 2nd patch change from 37 to 85?

I know how to do it! Import the MIDI into Nuendo, Cubase or any other sequencer out there, use its list editor to edit the Program Change and then import to MIDI file back into Live! This should only take about 5 minutes and another $300 - $2,000. :(

I like this one more:
Turn knob to Switch between your favourite presets.

Or this one:
Set up clip envelopes to automatically switch between all the presets you need in a song.

:)

I have 7 instruments (ie tracks) in my live.
I have 10 or 20 or more songs in my live
7x10 = 70 patches
...and... I use an external controller (midi mapping)

I cannot use these technical tips...

That I would like to do is impossible for the moment... but i know that I'm not the only person who want to do this...

I'll continue by drag'n'dropping my patches, it works perfectly, even if it is a little bit annoying...

In Live 6 you can. No problem. My set isn't as big (yet), it only has 4 synth racks with 5-10 synths in each. It works :)

My wish would be : makes a track only for "configuration/preset" (ie sysex tracks..)

On this track, I could create clips that could automatically change the patch of all my operator/simpler/impulse which are on the other tracks!

*But I repeat: the drag'n'drop method for changing sounds is cool yet... not the ideal, but it works (of course!)

What you need is a combination of dummy clips and Live clips.

Check the live clips tutorial http://www.thecovertoperators.com/downloads.php

The dummy clips introduction http://www.teragon.org/wiki/index.php?title=Dummy_Clips

And a tips and tricks thread about dummy clips http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight=

Keep the technique in mind for Live 6. Once you get the right mindset, you'll be able to make "modular" songs.
Modular in the sense: you'll be able to make a live set layout that can handle any song.
Perhaps even all your songs in one set.
Thats still experimental though
