report back on which is best...... They should do this every week to keep up
with the hardware market. Then they should also investigate any problems
with given hardware and fully review every piece so that we can best make
our own choices.

yeah, i didn't like the DUC much, but those stickies revolutionized
pro tools on PC. toolers were able to get a near HD3 power system with le on their mboxes by making "the allenstein machine" which had been tested time after time.

Hey man, i see that your intentions are good, don't get me wrong, but it's quite obvious that it's quite pointless to do this. As someone stated, software has a lot to do regarding configuration, and everyone uses his computer in a different way. It's just the way it is. Even "similar" configurations have totally different performances, for instance, i have an m-audio fw410, and it works just fine for me, but some people on this very same forum totally hate it. Or think about the macbooks, which are supposedly much more stable than PCs, and which have quite a standard configuration as opposed to PCs, which vary greatly from brand to brand. Even there you have differences, people whose macbook lappie shuts down unexpectedly, others that work without a hitch.

Too many variables, too many things to mess up with. I don't know, really.

And as for etiquette, you should avoid spam in the other threads, I don't think you're gonna get a lot of support from the guys in the forum doing that.

Peace,
Nico.
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.
