logic exs vs abes sampler
logic exs vs abes sampler
I want sampler real bad - exs is great in some ways but I've heard Kontakt/exs direct comparisons and the difference is HUGE. The previous beauty of the exs was its light CPU usage but that has been totally negated due to the super-duper intel chips that are out nowadays.
What are your experiences with samplers sound quality compared to that of other samplers (EXS,Kontakt, halion, Giga...)?

What exactly do you mean by sound quality? Are you talkng about interpolation?
EXS is a very "standard" sampler - it is comprehensive, stable and one of the most prolific formats available.
It really depends on your workflow. It sounds like you are happy with EXS but maybe it is time to upgrade to a more modern solution
. Personally, I would go with ableton sampler over NI's Kontakt - it's more flexible and you can do just as many things with much less screen real estate - minus the multitimbrality. **NI seems to only update kontakt once every 18 months

In the EXS if I want to lay out say two dozen samples all on one key each, at original pitch, I can quickly import them all at once and select "chromatic" layout - voila: all mapped for me.
Can Sampler do anything simillar to speed up workflow?
