Latency?
increase your latency? get the latest drivers? use a different firewire interface?

MOTU 828 MK2 cuts audio
i tried changing the latency to 300ms and it works, but i dont want to have that latency of course..
this noise or sound cut happens also when i move the MOUSE to much..
thats weird.
I Have the latest drivers

Hmmm...
If you're running Norton Antivirus... try turning that off while you are using live. I have to do that on my desktop to be able to get good performance. Try going to www.blackviper.com to see if there are any other things you shouldn't be running to help your system's performance.
Another suggestion would be to look at the other threads and see if your firewire chipset matches what other people are having issues with. You might need to get a PCMCIA firewire card to have proper performance.

the motu 828, i'm gonna check on that,
its crazy, it plays ok, but when i start to do the smallest task it begins
to cut the audio. Anyone knows a good Pcmcia brand?

Set the processor scheduling to adjust for best performace of background services (I think - if it's already set to this, try the other setting) To do this right click my computer, then go to advanced. Made a huge difference to my set up. Also configure the swap file so that it never resizes.
Have a look on the Cubase knowledge base and also www.prorec.com, that's where I found out this info.

MOTU cuts audio
well, i did all that, (good tips by the way),
but it has to be something deeper, cause
the MOTU 828 mk2 still works really bad in the VPR matrix,
and its not just me, but other people to.

I have the exact same problem.
I am running an Emachines m6805 and a MOTU828 mk2 with Live 3.0.4 on windows XP home (soon to be scrapped for pro... but I dont think that will solve my problem)
The audio cuts out, replaced by a high pitch whine for about 2 seconds at a time. It happens seemingly randomly independant of CPU, disk usage and buffer settings. It happens frequently enough that unless I can find a cure I will not be able to use Live and my MOTU together (on adverage about once every 5-10 minutes).
It should be noted that this problem does not occur in Cubase SX 2!
So far I have found it to be a Live only issue!
So, while I will continue to try to find a solution by chaning my setup (both my software and hardware) I worry that it wont solve my problem.

i quit the dame 828mk2.
Now I use rme multiface and it's stable as it can get.
Trust me, live4 does not work with the Motu,
win or mac.
No glitches on any day.
with motu, glitches everyday.
What is your choice ???
PLZ take a look at every motu threads or the Rme threads and
you'll notice the difference even from the words.
