you might want to check out mrs. pinky's (
http://www.mspinky.com/). it's under a hundred bucks and seems to be the most versitile as it integrates with max/msp, which means you can scratch stuff other than just audio, like video, lighting, whatever. it comes with some pretty cool looking software.

to the original poster, email them again and send them a link to this thread so they can see just how much they are fucking up their business.
which should matter, if they are legitimate.

Nah, can't be bothered. They'd probably reply with some bullshit anyway. Grex have had their chance to resolve this as far as I'm concerned.
I guess this means the Genotron won't be released as advertised:
"Arrives Spring 2004.
Watch this space!"
Yehright!!

I'd let you know if I could get my hands on one. Taking money for goods that can't be delivered however is, Trading Standards have been informed and I would urge anyone else in the UK to do the same.

That SUCKS...that's also only minutes drive from my hometown, if I were there I'd get right on over and sort 'em out...unfortunately I'm on the other side of the world
Hope u all get sorted out, I was liking the look of those too. BTW, might also be worth informing some of the trade press about the problems too, Future Music, Sound on Sound etc, and let the company know you're telling the press too!

speaking of the press, have there been any reviews in any of the zines cause if they haven't gotten any to review then we sure as hell aren't going to get any.

There is a half page news preview in the current sound on sound but even if they start appearing I wouldnt touch this company with a 10ft pole. Not responding to mails and when finally doing so filling it with BS is absolutely unforgivable imo. What happens when you need after sales support even if you do happen to get the product in the first place? There is no excuse for treating customers in this way, if they cant even be bothered answering mails the mxf8 deserves to fail.

aren't these the same guys who made the notron? i've never heard people swear by gear like notron users. they're few and far between, and it's almost impossible to find one for sale because people love them so much. i think the company went through some sort of rearangement or something, maybe they just really fucked up their reopening, or the manufacturer sent them 5,000 tv remotes instead of knobby things. i know i've worked at some companies where shit just went so wrong it was downright comical to watch, and it doesn't mean it's a scam. besides, if you were going to scam a bunch of folks, i hardly think this would be the right demographic to go after. i'd be willing to bet things start to smooth out over the next few months.
of course, i'm not going to spend my money there or anything.

even so that doesnt excuse them for ignoring emails week after week having taken peoples cash, then if you do get a reply filling it with BS delivery dates. no wonder notrons are so hard to find.

It's the fact that they take the money with no product to deliver, and they rarely respond to emails and when they do it's just another line of garbage saying that it will be sent out "tomorrow" or "next week". These pieces of shit seem to not care about pissing on their customers. I'm sure things go wrong at times and thats to be expected, but to just outright not care about your customers after you took their money and gave them nothing but excuses in return is completely unacceptable. Also, what if the customer actually got the product and needed support? They would be fucked then, wouldn't they? They also say on their website that the device can be upgraded in the future with user defined features, how the fuck is that possible with no fucking customer communication? This company should be shut down with its people thrown in jail for fraud.
