Showing only 128 parameters of a vst????
One year ago, i made a big fuss about that, I also sent e-mails to support. The answer was: maybe will fix it someday, but not soon. Ok Abes, it has been 1 year now.
CAN YOU GIVE US ACCESS TO ALL VST PARAMETERS PLEASE?
Are you in the vst host market or not????

I posted a thread regarding this as a feature request (tho I really consider it a bug as well)... My favorite synths all exceed live's parameter limit. It's extremely annoying not being able to automate such params. What is being asked here is nothing more than the most basic VST support... All parameters should be available and automatable.
Just a little a question. When you said future version, did you mean Live 6?Frank Hoffmann wrote:Sorry, there is a misunderstanding. We didn't think it is confusing. It is simply unusable in terms of GUI and management. Live will most likely never support more than 128 parameter for automation in plug-in at the same time.WaveRider wrote:Thank you very much for the answer.hoffman2k wrote:it has something to do with the amount of parameters some plugins have.
They go from 1 to 10000+.
I think ableton decided on 128 parameters, so that things wouldn't be to confusing.
They made a statement about that once, but i cant find where it was posted.
cheers
128 is just not enough!!!!!!!! It is an arbitrary limit that should not be so low.... that does not make very power user-friendly.....![]()
..I do not like when devs start to think when things are too confusing for me... just give me access please....
...in any case, I bought Live 4 because it was VSTi compatible, but limitations are there. There is a severe oversight concerning the undo history/parameter editing also. (posted too)
The problem is that you are limited to just the first 128 parameters in Live 4/5. In a future version you will have the choice and select which parameters you prefer to automate.

Or will this be for a version a bit more in the future?
The browser seems to be equipped for the job.
Custom ranges and a randomizer button could probably fit in there somewhere

Maybe it is. Thats why i'm bumping this thread. there's loads of little improvements in Live.justin wrote:of all the things that should have been added during live 6 design - SURELY this has to be one of them!
And the way the browser works now, makes me think that the feature is there or almost there.
This is ok. I face the same problem when using Reaktor, which exposes 1000 parameters (if I remember correctly). And many of the ensembles use parameters numbers above 128.Frank Hoffmann wrote: The problem is that you are limited to just the first 128 parameters in Live 4/5. While your approach of allowing the user to select which parameters are preferred to automate, it would be more sensible to add an integer field in the preferences where the user can specify the maximum amount of avaliable parameters, because having to set up parameter preferences for each individual Reaktor ensemble would be a real pain.

i realise this is not ideal, but u can re order the controllers within a reactor ensemble file... it's a bit of a pain in the butt to do, but at least u can get it to display the controllers u want within the first 128 controllers....
on the other hand, synths like waldorf attack, albino, and arturia plugs, where u cant reassign controllers for automation are the real pain in the butt. some of them u might be able to get round it by using midi cc mapping within the plugin, but that is not necessarily possible and its not an ideal solution!

got you totally Justin!!!!!! it is unbelivable that a soft of this price, that calls itself a vst host, is failing so miserably to give us access to parametersjustin wrote:
