wait until you see Bela Tarrs filmsi always thought Tarkovsky was the master of the long shot though.
the whole film of Wreckmeister Harmonies only has 39 picture edits, total
which doesnt necessarily make it better... but in this case it does imho
it makes most Hollywood filsm feel like they have been made/cut for TV
theres an interview here

that was my favorite part!subbasshead wrote:i loved the movie - michael caine as a ganja growing hippy was brilliant
& loved it when he says 'now for a bit of zen music' and drops a gnarly
aphex twin song!
i just saw the movie.... still in post-movie wow shock.
can't really elaborate with out spoiling with my thoughts but the symbolism was very well done.

For long, uninterrupted shots and extreme violence, how about Gaspar Noe's Irreversible?
Seriously, very seriously, I can't recommend that film to anybody because I think it could be seriously damaging to a person sensitive to extreme graphic violence. Each scene is one long continuous shot, so that the film can't be edited down. The name is appropriate, since the effects of watching the film are irreversible. Personally, I felt violated and damaged by the film, and thought I would end up much more desensitized to violence, but I actually feel much more sensitized to violence now because it was so realistic and sickening.
Seriously, don't watch that movie unless you are prepared to witness extreme graphic violence.
