yeah, the mojo button is gone. wtf? but actually that's almost true...they've added a few features and i think one in particular, a brick wall on/off button, has caused vw to lose some of its unique style. actually, i'm not really sure of that because its so buggy i can't even tell if what i'm hearing is actually what they planned for. right now its a mess...krank wrote:New version has lost its mojo?eyeknow wrote:not only is the latency too high.....they did not improve it at all in the newest version.....and that version has lost it's "mojo" imo.
Actually, now that I think about it........I'm still pissed I can't use the "real" VW on my mac

Shame about VW2, I'm really in love with the saturation/compression in addictive drums, which they thank PSP for, so I was hoping to get VW when it went UB, but now I don't know.
Anyone use or tried Blues tubes analog trackbox? I'm demoing it right now and it's not bad at all. Nice eq and I like the tube drive. Seems like it might be a good alternative to vintage warmer.

+1 on rbmonosylabik's settings. I just tamed the range of the maro mapping so that if I grab a knob I won't end up with +36 db on the distortion.rbmonosylabik wrote:http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=54296Thinktanx wrote:Any general settings you guys like for the Saturator + CompII combo. I've been very impressed with that combo too, and that's coming from a former Vintage Warmer user. It's not as good as the multiband Vintage warmer (as it occasionally ducks the hi freqs) but it sounds sweet regardless.
there's a link to the limiter I made using those two
After using VW on my master for quite some time, I was kinda surprised when I decided to use Kjaerhus´s Golden Audio Chanel-1 (GAC-1) on my master out, and found that, with just a very slight tweak of the´Master Mix´ preset, I achieved much more pleasing results than I ever did with VW. It´s just a channel strip, supposedly, but it worked so well on the master channel, and the fact it has 0 latency means I´m also using it when DJ´ing out.
For Cakealk Sonar users. it´s the same plugin as Vintage Chanel-64, but with a different GUI.
Now I just find VW too harsh, brittle and rumble-y. And let´s not talk about VW2, which I think is a clusterf***, I only seem to achieve a similar sound to the previous VW by turning on FAT mode, but that uses too much CPU...it´s like they´re selling you the same thing but actually made it sound worse with the same settings as before in order to make you think it has gotten any better because of having that new FAT mode.

Why does everyone always talk about compressor II, and how that plus saturator gives a VW type sound? Compressor I with saturator is way closer IMHO.M. Bréqs wrote:+1 on rbmonosylabik's settings. I just spend hours AB'ing different channel strip type plugs and compressors, and rb's rack isn't bad, but if you replace compressor II with compressor I, you get much closer to that sought after sound I think, as Comp I has more character.
I'm still liking blue tubes analog trackbox the best though I think.

I use the VC 64 but some have described the GUI as "a Klingon teenager's car radio."KInetic wrote:For Cakewalk Sonar users. it´s the same plugin as Vintage Chanel-64, but with a different GUI.
