OK, I didn't really read the entire thread and I may be getting old, but I have to say I didn't think he looked all that goofy. To me there really wasn't a big difference watching him behind a laptop head banging than BT or Ken Jordan, only that they look more "pimp" I guess. I've emailed Craig years ago about some questions I had when we were working on our first single and he took the time to answer every email I had sent him. Very nice guy indeed.

FYI, as there seems to be interest in the guitar sound: That went directly into a Live channel. The effects I used were the Live compressor, the AudioDamage FuzzPlus 2 (a free download - check it out!) and the Live Ping-Pong Delay...that's all.

I was able to get latency low enough that the guitar still had a good "feel" playing through Live. So now I don't have to bring any guitar FX boxes and just one patch cord! That's what I call progress. To play out I used to have to bring two Ensoniq ASR-X groove boxes, the PC1600, Electrix Vocoder, POD or Adrenalinn, and a small mixer. And I couldn't surf the internet back at the hotel room after the gig with any of that stuff

The voice setup was also really simple: Live Compressor and Live Chorus. One of the things I really love about Live is how much mileage you can get out of a really minimal setup.

The vocals and guitar sounded good with just those, cool, thanks for the tips.

so you're not using guitar rig or any amp modeling software at all? hmmmm... food for thought.

Dear Mr Anderton,

Speaking of guitar sounds, would you believe I keep an OS9 tibook with no screen for the sole purpose of using QUADRAFUZZ?

IMHO, THE best distortion, the most malleable, shapable, tweakable fuzz-box I ever heard. I love the sound of the slope of the filters and the phase artifacts from the way the bands interact with each other - for me it's one of those rare effects that sounds musical on everything.

I use it on drums, vocals, percussion, often "performing" a pass - I find a sweet-spot at one of the crossover points and tweak it up and down.

Any chance of one day seeing an AU port of this awesome plugin? I'm such a fan, given the chance of bending your ear about this, I could not resist!!

I have no idea why Steinberg stopped pursuing the Quadrafuzz, although you CAN take the .dll from Cubase SX and use it with Cubase 4...not that anyone on this forum would care

Maybe we could get a group of people to demand that it return, or maybe Ableton could buy the code...yeah, that's the ticket! A Quadrafuzz in Live would be absolutely bitchin'!!

And yes, I'm not using any kind of amp sim.

to bad more people don't look like they are having fun while PLAYING music

also nice to see that i am not the only one using the 1600x!
mine has served me well and is what i call "my secret weapon"

on a side note....craig you may or may not recall me from the mp forums as spacebass but i now work at an internet radio station/cafe ( OseaO.com ) that hosts the seattle live users group...which from what the press has to say is one of the largest in the world.....but hey i don't believe everything i read.
