Help starting up

Hi everyone
Just installed Ableton and i'm really new to it all and only know basic computer stuff
I can't seem to play my music files throught Ableton but can play loops and samples ok.
Is there anything I need to know before the files will play?

if you are using i tunes and you mean when you click on a folder theres nothing there
they are purchased & as such are protected files i use my copy disc and copy to desk top then import to arrangement view then collect & save to self contain the resulting set you have to be a bit patient when loading as they have to do a file analysis 1st (a fellow noob)

Live can't play WMA files. You should convert it to Wav in an audio editor, or Windows Media Player.

We only have Ableton 6 on the laptop
There is the error message:
An error occured while reading
"C\users\publicmasters\samplemusic\1stepbeyond.wav."
Apparently the document was created by a more recent and more compatible version of live than this.
