Panning problem when using Sends!
When using sends I can't pan the signal to the right on the send track, only center or left! The more I pan to right the less audible the track becomes.
I know I could just leave the send track centered and adjust the pan knob on the return track, but that's not what I want.
Cause I'm sending both left & right tracks to the return FX.
Has anyone a clue?
Thanks!
Josh

The return tracks contain all the VSTs.
The problem occurs on the audio tracks, which send their signals to the returns.
No, I always record in stereo, they are all stereo.
Edit: I've had the same problem in other sequencing programs as well. The sound would always be completely turned off when panning to hard right.

As mentioned before I could still leave the track's panning at center and use the pan knob on the return (which works fine), but that would mean that I could only send tracks to the VST plugin, which will either be panned right OR left. Thus meaning that I would have to set up two VST instances, which I DON'T want!

Help!
I'm having this problem too.
I have tracks recorded in mono. I surmise from reading in these forums that the default mono left is sent to both channels by default in ableton when you play the track, but the track itself is left mono. So when panning left on these mono tracks, loudness increases, while panning right decreases loudness until the sound is gone.
This is phase cancellation at work? I have a mono track I want to pan right, and the both the pan at the fader and the Utility effect make it go bye bye.
What do I do? Create a pseudo stereo image using a slightly delayed version of the track and try to pan that? There's got to be something very simple that I'm missing here... it's making me feel quite stoopid.
I've searched the forums and seen similar questions but no answer has worked for me yet...
