I like this style of visuals (although the song is a bit boring, no?)

everything old will be new and everything new will be old. there is nothing wrong with this, cause its been happening for a while. its all about perspective. to me, it seems like music goes in circles, and we all hear something again for the first time. i get tired of alot of stuff, then after a while ill hear it again, and get inspired. go figure

Various is awesome! If you like Dubstep and Triphop, give this album a try "The World is Gone" This particular song is one of the weaker tracks IMHO, they should've picked a different song like "Today"

everything goes in cycles its the way things are.

im just surprised that electro and minimal have spread so far and become the mainstay genres for almost all 4 / 4 based djs and producers. dont get me wrong electro and minimal have been around for a long time and each have excellent standout crossover tracks, but theres some shit to wade through to find the gold.

is it people just do not care what they listen to?

i personally cant see [hear] much daylight between any djs these days. if you name the "top 10" popular djs at the moment they are all playing the same tracks all the time. whos doing anything different? it seems fewer and fewer people are making fresh new music and more and more are trying to copy the last big track they heard. which unfortunately is most likely some harsh electrobosh 8 bit noise or glitchy minimal tech. thats most likey because when people go out what choice are they given? practically none [if you like house].

yes i think things are pretty stale. but dont get me wrong there are some great djs and producers out there. unfortunately they cant get the chance to shine as the prescription [for the time being] is electro.

Her new album sounds like shit not one credible single .I guess the cancer thing ruined this one for her . The mid 80's is where were @ now it's gonna be a big upswing for electronic dance music over the next 5 years or so .

I didn't read any replies, but no offense to the original poster, but electro has been going on for 20+ years easily.

If anything, electro is far past being freshness. I was heavily into AUX 88 in the early 90's, and that was even 15+ years ago.

Electro has been around long enough where it will never die, it passed the test of time. It will come in and out of style, but electro is here forever...

The most inspiring new fusion of genres for my blood (yeah I know it's not new). I dig how the beats are 140 but the pulse is at 70, so the body can dance slow and sensual but you can do wicked percussive adrennalin on top. And I'm really lovin' that bass style. Did that Wob-Wob-Wob thing orignate in electro?

I remember seeing monster magnet and soundgarden open up for mudhoney in a dingy club in trenton NJ. Wonderful show!

First of all, i think there won´t be ONE "Big Thing" in music anymore. The music market isn´t that straight and strong as it was in former days.

And then i agree to all those posts that say, LIVE music with "real" musicians
will be important, if not crucial.

BUT,

a) electronic music CAN be LIVE music, and Ableton had/ has a big influence on that
b) we guys doing electronic music need somehow to develop and practice our laptop ableton-whatever-setups to be an instrument

so that in fact,

electronic music won´t be understood only as an performance by somebody
called "DJ", but as LIVE music performed by REAL musicians.
