I saw part of DOOM today while I worked cause the dish network booth was near mine (I have a booth... yes) that looked pretty terrible too.
in all seriousness though if I was gonna have samuel jackson in my shark movie I would definetly have him get eaten and have him screaming "aw damn, aw damn, naw this ain hapnin you ain tellin me a motha fukin sharks in dee's watas." and then he'd totally get eaten. and I'd say "good movie..."

open water: they go diving, then get eaten by sharks ages later. very very depressing pointless film. looks like it was surprisingly cheap to make though

No, no - isn't that the one with Nick Nolte diving for treasures somewhere in the
Bermudas?
(Okay, I'm just doing this for the fuck of it - I see great potential in this thread.)

Are you referring to "The Jaws of Satan"? I see Christina Applegate listed, butHomebelly wrote: nah,, that one is just caled "The deep", written by the same guy that wrote Jaws,, it also stared Jaquelin Bisset,,,

not Jaqueline Bisset.

Agreed. but do you think it was a good film?RhythmSickness wrote:open water: they go diving, then get eaten by sharks ages later. very very depressing pointless film.
I do.
I hate to say I enjoyed it because it doesn't sound appropriate given the content, but most of the movies I think are good aren't enjoyable per se.... Schindlers List, The Pianist, Hotel Rwanda. the Constant Gardener, Syrianna.... etc.
Depressing, pointless tragedies for the most part.
The only thing my wife hates more than going to the video store with me is when I get to pick the movie...

I think it was an interesting film, never having experienced dying in the wide open sea, but I also think its very bleak and should be more of a short than a whole film, although that feeling of futility you get from it would be lost I guess.smutek wrote:Agreed. but do you think it was a good film?RhythmSickness wrote:open water: they go diving, then get eaten by sharks ages later. very very depressing pointless film.
I do.
I get what you're saying, but I dont think its as powerful a topic as say the grey zone, or schindlers, as they're about much heavier things
