Apple 8, Steinberg 4?

It's very simple who does so with Live: warez users.

I use Ableton at times because I type fast and sometimes forget to capitalize the "L" in Live. And then it looks like I sometimes mean live as in on a stage, in front of people, instead of as a product. So yeah, you say Ableton because people instantly know what you mean then.

On a more worrying note, why do we call Ableton employees "Abe's"? Wouldn't it be "Able's"? Ah, more tricky word games!

I have resolved this particular scenario by personifying the company into a mythic figure known as Abe....

I affectionately picture him as a cross between this:

Only one word for me (actually two, when I think about it)

It's just 'Ableton Live!' for me -- always has been. Just always felt like that sounds better. Come to think of it, it sorta has that grand concert air about it when presented to folks I mentioned it to, like it is supposed to be noted as a big show stopper, or something. I figure it's like I'm promoting when I speak of things often times anyway.
"The SCARF - ACE Is In Your Face"

And I just love making time for meeting new people, chatting, reading, writing, working, playing, and most of all . . . music.

:D But then we'd be arguing about whether it was Poop Hat Nine or Poo Phat Neun

Hehe. Yeah, it annoys me a bit when people say "I use Ableton" or whatever.

The guy who said that the word "Live" is too generic a term is bang on - the connotations of the word are very strong (in the music arena especially) and the DAW connotation to that word is not nearly as strong.

In written form, it's less of an issue because it will be capitalised most of the time, so it's easy to see that it's meaning is other than the conventional one in this context.

If I'm speaking to people who I know have a clue about this stuff, I will just say "Live" but usually emphasize it a bit stronger than I might if I was just using that word generically - if not, I will say "Ableton Live", or "Ableton's Live".

I like to call it Live, but 75% of the time, people dont know what I'm talking about until I say... "Ummmm... Ableton = Live"

"ohhhhhhh right! yeah that program's pretty cool. I've never used it, but i've heard good things about it ... but wait, so you produce with it? you can do that?"

*sigh* "yup"
