Why DRUM RACKS go up in 3 rows rather than 4? and no midi?
this seems odd to me that when going up through the Drum racks with the cursor keys it goes in rows in 3 rather than 4, as it would make sense to go in 4 as we could have 8 banks of 16 sounds..
also why can we not assign a midi controller to the selector as i could control everything from my Trigger Finger and not be mousing around to select beats.

sure, but why is that important when you're playing with beat/perc sounds? surely the best way would be to shift 4 rows at a time so that each bank of 16 is distinct... or at least make it a preference that could be changed..hoffman2k wrote:Its done that way, so the notes are always in the same place.
C2 is where C1 was....
Wouldn't be possible when shifting 4 rows.
Also why no midi control? This would be ideal for fast switching between beats in a live situation if you had a midi controller controlling where on the grid of clips you were focused..

if you set up a user script for your drumpad it shouldn't matter where the notes are should it?nobbystylus wrote:sure, but why is that important when you're playing with beat/perc sounds? surely the best way would be to shift 4 rows at a time so that each bank of 16 is distinct... or at least make it a preference that could be changed..hoffman2k wrote:Its done that way, so the notes are always in the same place.

i think i read somewhere in the 7 beta forum that they were 'discussing' including the midi control thing - it seems ridiculous not to have it though, and why not have a little button there that switches it so you can scroll row by row OR screen by screen (ie 4 rows...)

Yes i spotted the command key one row thing, but this still means lotsa tap tap tapping to get up to the next 'set' of 16 sounds..
give us a preference and midi and it would make it so useful for users of PK or TFs or MPDs..
