I'm mostly interested in portrait and shots macro shots. But anyway, first comes music gear, cameras have to wait.
On my list:
- Neumann TLM 103 (some love it, some hate it, I tried it on my voice and it fits well).
- Audio-Technica 4050 (sounds different to the above and offers three patterns for a good price if you buy from the US, they're are way overpriced in Germany just like the Neumanns).
- SM7B and/or RE20, mostly out of curiosity, no chance to test them, so I guess I have to go the blind-date path.
- Fireface 800 (best compromise out of all my needs, good converters, althought the FF400 offers better pre-amps). I'm seriously thinking about getting a digital mixer as an alternative though, maybe coupled with a HDSP (like 9652 or Digiface).
- some channel-strip for vocal, guitar and bass recordings and later for live-vocals (I ran the TLM 103 through a DBX channel-strip when I tested it at the store, but I'm tempted to buy the couple of a TLM 103 (EA1+Alu case) + Avalon VT737 that is offered by one american guy, which still is cheaper than buying the TLM 103 Alu alone in Germany).
- Yamaha Kompass APX900
- some Roland V-Drums module or SPD-20 plus pads and foot-machine
- Cubase 4.1
See, lots of gear to buy, no money left for playing around with pictures.
