easiest way to convert mp3's for DJ use in Live 4
anybody know of anything to convert mp3 files into .wav or .aiff files for use in Live???
Preferably something retaining any bpm time coding and other fancy stuff.

although.. 've used itunes and sure it converts nicely but when i drop the file into Live i'd like to be able to see the original bpm in the warp section and it doenst want to work for me thats really what im concerned about

i generally use either cdex with the lame 3.91 engine
or soundforge if the file is going to need to be edited.
i think that you could use a renaming script in order to read
bpm, etc from the mp3 tags, and then have them included
in the actual wav file name

If you're on Mac there are two OS X apps called "Mp3-to-AIFF" and "Mp3-to-WAV" and both are freeware. You can drag and drop as many MP3 files at time as you want and it will batch convert them to AIFF or WAV.
