Post by deepdirtydub » Sat Oct 02, 2004 4:25 pm

anybody know of anything to convert mp3 files into .wav or .aiff files for use in Live???

Preferably something retaining any bpm time coding and other fancy stuff.

Thanks for any help!!

check this site out:

i generally use either cdex with the lame 3.91 engine
or soundforge if the file is going to need to be edited.

i think that you could use a renaming script in order to read
bpm, etc from the mp3 tags, and then have them included
in the actual wav file name

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

it's free and works well. just load your mp3, and then export as wav

Free, open-source, and batch control. Instead of adding wav's and encoding them, load up MP3's and write to wav.

If you're on Mac there are two OS X apps called "Mp3-to-AIFF" and "Mp3-to-WAV" and both are freeware. You can drag and drop as many MP3 files at time as you want and it will batch convert them to AIFF or WAV. 8)
