There are SO many controllers out there.

It's easy to blame the equipment on a lack of talent and creativity!

I like this version

:)

For now though, I use a pair of Behringer controllers:
BCF2000 for the main audio source channels and BCR2000 for fx controll etc.
Nothing to see here - move along!

of course somebody had to say something condescending like that. nobody is blaming their equipment for a lack of creativity god dammit they are just asking for a controller that is built well and laid out logically which is not to much to ask.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Yes, all illuminated soft touch buttons, 3 colors per buttons (Red, Green or Orange). I'm working on the PCB right now, asap i'll built it for testing. I'll make a video to demo the features.

It take very long time to built a unit like that, i mean for mass production. So much to think about and things change rapidly. Trust me.

What's logical and well-built to you isn't necessarily what's logical and well-built to me... or to anyone else.

DJ? PA? VJ? LD? Band? Theater? Video? Lighting? Studio? Live? Portable? Fixed installation? Modular? Software configurable? Automap? Touchscreen? Knobs? Rotary encoders? Faders? Buttons? How many of each? Mimic Live's interface? Or your own? Visual feedback? MIDI? USB? Wireless? Built-in audio interface? How many channels? Built-in MIDI interface? Battery power? Automated moving controls? Fingers? Feet? Programs? etc...

Everyone has different requirements and budgets. Rather than waiting around for your perfect controller, why not just pick one (or two) and make the best of it?

THAT'S the talent and creativity I'm talking about... making the best of what's out there right now rather than making excuses... god dammit...

well put.

it feels great to put time in with what you already have and get to the point where the only time you touch the computer is to turn of the screen saver.

The OP was either ignorant or troll. There are enough good controllers for all type of users and various price range, I think we never had it that good. SL was bugy 2 years back, now it performs perfectly. Faderfoxes deliver quality, same Kenton. USB? for 10-20$ you can get USB cable, and as someone said a set of batteries runs it longer then life span of Behringer. PadKontrol, MPD24,32 TF are all excellent.
If you know what you need, want there is controller for that or a combination of 2 or 3 of them. We have much better situation then 3-4 years ago.
Making your own? I still have those Doepfer parts collecting dust, probably my dream controller will be never made because i can find ready-made that nearly deliver all I want and it cost too much time and energy to get your own made.
