why does such good music get ignored in favour of pop crap?

Because it's fun, takes zero energy, and is more life affirming than being sweet?

Haven't you moved and given up music yet? What are you still doing here? Hey, can morerecords have your place in London? The sooner we ship that nincomepoop out of here the better.

...
I'll never give up music! I'm just giving up push-button copy-n-paste music and computers and going back to real live music, real instruments, real people, real talent, without the crutch of computers. Back to my roots. Music for no reason other than fun. One item to carry to gigs: http://www.yamaha.com/yamahavgn/CDA/Con ... 00,00.html

And shipping out to Abu Dhabi in three weeks!

Pop sells, it is whatever the 'masses' are currently purchasing.

Pop = Popular

Pop is a mix-mash of some of the greatest musical genres.

Pop, can I have the tv remote please?

Pop goes the weasel.

Snap, crackle and ...........

If everyone liked good music, how would I know I was cool?

Face it, you all like the fact your taste in music is better than the majority.

i wouldn't mind if music didn't have the tendency to turn to shit once it went mainstream.

and wouldn't you hope that the people posting on a music related forum have a somewhat higher connection with music in general - particularly if that forum involves the creation of more music...

"they" "the music industrie" only benefit from old song.
the radio in germany is playing 95 % old songs (and only ENGLISH!)
"they" give a shit about new generation because "they" believe to be responsible for a new world order.
advise:
don't make any business with this kind of shit.
don't touch one single cent from "them" it's stinky money.
tell "them" in the face what kind of shit "they" are, wherever you meet "those" kind of monkeys.
avoid colaboration with the mafial.
save your soul.

that's not what i'm talking about at all. i am always trying to turn people on to dance music.

i'm pointing out the undeniable fact that when a 'sound' or a particular band hit it big, they generally lose elements that made them so great originally. or they keep them but add those elements that make them mainstream friendly. not that they are forced to, but something has changed that makes it so accessible to the mainstream, and it's generally not a change for the deeper side. one case in point is modest mouse when they got real big a few years ago. or soul coughing

It's all subjective. We all have different tastes and opinions. I'm glad it's that way.
i'm also glad since i understud that humans are rats.
just play for them a hugy hugy bugy wugy shugy.
they're amazed and in trance for this greatness.

in a medical analysis (don't know in english),they made a test.
whenever a dove see something green like a tree (video picture), the dove learned to pick on the big red lighty button.
immediately they got bush.
they learned to not push the big red button when there is another colour like red because they can not benfit from it.

aother one from the darwin theory.

darwin was not talking about:
people with the strongest power and most egoistic twat reach success.
darwin makes his experience on the galapagos islands.
his opinion was.
only the adequate species CAN survive.

The lose of 'greatness' is usually due to repetition or saturation. Its 'use by date' is forced. Familiarity breeds contempt.
...or they keep them but add those elements that make them mainstream friendly....not that they are forced to
Exactly. Time to save for retirement. Nothing wrong with that.
..but something has changed that makes it so accessible to the mainstream, and it's generally not a change for the deeper side.
Depends really. Case in point was Jose Gonzalez. Singer songwriter, not to flash, generally nice. Prior to the Sony Bravia bouncy ball add he had only sold 50 copies of his Veneer CD in New Zealand. During the following months he sold approx 2500 copies and was suddenly touring here. His particular 'sound' was fresh at the time. A fortuitous marketing bonanza allowed him into the living rooms of millions of people around the world. I know lots of people who are sick of Heartbeats now. Use by date came quick.
....one case in point is modest mouse when they got real big a few years ago. or soul coughing
Sorry, never heard of them. Can't be that big.
