IMHO the best arpeggiator I've seen so far in a soft synth is in Linplug Albino 2. This babe has programmable rhythm patterns and a chord mode (which is simply fantastic).

What about Reaktor 4? Or Absynth 3? Nice arps there, too.. Just hope Reaktor doesn't spike the cpu, that monster..

do you know about a specific good arp ensemble?

I use often:
BTS-Dream
Cube-X !
Drumatik !
Sine Beats

thats the ones I know they don't crash :-)
but I haven't found a decent Arp till now...
please enlighten my humble ears ;-)
And maybe you can help me with this one:
in Sine Beats I can't automate all the parameters... maybe there is too many?

Basic Midi Functonality in the Piano Roll

Post by Analytik J » Thu Dec 02, 2004 4:46 am

I truely feel that Live should should have some or all of the midi fuctionality found in Fl Studio's Piano Roll, then I could ditch everything else. Features like Chords and arppeggiators and randomisation. I know there are ways around the chord issue but its nice to have it contained with the piano roll. Since we are wishing anyway!

an arp like in the mc 909 would be cool. easy to set up, alot of presets, steprate, intensity, duration,...

in other words a highly tweakable arp thats easy to use. it would also be cool if it had a mode to sync itself with the global quantization. what i mean by that is; it plays on the beat instead of starting when you press (although thats the most important mode to have)

Even though I wanted a nice arp, now I would just be happy with internal midi routing, so I could use a 3rd party one.

An arp would still be nice, but midi routing is useful for many things!

But I would want an arp that generates midi notes, just like in FL Studio. I think this way you have more control and it's much more elegant.

anyone knows the yamaha rm1x? the groove function in combination with a classic arpeggio or even normal midi-tracks makes the most powerful arpeggiator i've seen so far.

At least support for midi plugins so we could use an amazing external arp plugin like ERA. But I agree, and arp would be very cool.
