I hate smooth feeling knobs. When you're on stage and get sweaty your hands slip right off knobs like that.

Some sort of texture makes a big difference.
There's an upgrade for that.

Maybe I'm a sucker for design, but I noticed right away that I liked the way the knobs looked. They're... they're... sensual looking.

If you want to sweep a control from 0 to 128, then from 0 to 128 again, you CAN with endless.

Without endless, you have to go from 128 to 0 to start that sweep over again.

With endless, it's your choice to just keep turning and 128 becomes 0 instantly.

That's the basic advantage.

Bank switching with no jumps in parameter values.

moot point. with OSC you can do whatever you want. think about it, re-read that press release again, the part about the ability to tweak hardware.

the benefit of endless encoders is - when you switch banks you can still turn the damn knob !

imagine you have an instrument selected, you use an encoder to open up the filter to the max. Now you change tracks and instruments but must use the same encoder to try and open up the filter on a new device. If your dial has a stop - then you aren't going to be rotating it any further clockwise are you?

Furthermore endless encoders mean you can immediately see and control any parameter you switch to - you do not need a 'pick-up' mode as the software variable and the hardware dial are always in unison.

I would have liked a combination, like on the Novation Remote Zero.

Still, at least they give BCR style visual feedback, which is better than the AKAI MPDs.

While not concrete, more than just a guess:
UPDATE: UK details - £399 and ETA April. But don't hold me to that.

I'm trying to picture this in my head:
"You can shift your clip focus and get an overview of the clips you have loaded for your set.
How is this going to work exactly? Is it like a zoom-out kind of thing where the 40 illuminated triggers sort of change to show you more cells? I can't really picture that.

Any ideas?
