It has in fact nothing to do with Ableton Live. You can use any Midi Monitor to see that the BCR stops sending data, yet still receives data.

are you using a usb hub?
That might very well be the problem - cause I had problems when I got my
BCF recently, but they all went away when I plugged it directly into the computer's
USB port rather than via a hub. Another curious thing is that I intently neglected
installing the proper driver that time, so that the unit simply shows up as a
generic USB audio device. I still don't know if it's the hub or the driver that's
the culprit, but my Axiom 61 works just fine through the hub.

By the way; here is their reply to my question (which was (in more words):
fader number 5 doesn't work properly WTF?

Let's hope all future customers read forum posts like this and stop buying the Behringer crap until they realize that their biggest mistake was the ignorant we-don't-make-mistakes-it-must-be-you "support", which is no support at all.

I am replacing my BCR with a midibox. I don't care that it will cost more than twice the price and will take a lot of time to finish.

Behringer, you got me officially hating you.

I had this problem with my first BCR.
I explained in very very intricate detail all the steps that I had taken. Make sure you eliminate yourself from 'doofus' category, where a lot of the human race reside.

Bear in mind that all support departments are given a big red button marked Doofus, that they reflexively hit if there is any hint that the person contacting them has not eliminated every variable.

Anyway - I sent them a bullet list of everything I had tried. The wrote back and said - send us your unit we will replace it.
3 days later I had a new unit and it has worked perfectly ever since.

the end.

Not to mention that the attached quick guide says absolutely nothing on the
matter... Oh, wait, no; my bad:
That attached quick guide wrote:Restart the unit twice within 5 seconds, stand on your head and press all
sixteen buttons while moving the relevant fader up and down. This should
restore it to full capacity.
