We're sorry, this round of Live 8 beta testing is closed.
This is the punishment I get on a day when I finally pull myself off of the forum to concentrate on doing actual work for my actual job!

When I do make it into the beta, I'll be able to test 8 on both an RME PCI + Multiface II interface and my M-Audio Ozonic... hint hint, nudge nudge...

It is no biggie for me - too much work and family commitment this weekend.

Being in from the start (if similar to last year's beta) means 20 plus installs/uninstalls of over 110 MB, does a bit of a number on the windows registry and each beta only lasts a few days and then the next one is upon you. If your internet is bandwidth restricted, or you have to pay fines for going over download limits, as many are, coming in later helps too.

It really does require plenty of time and commitment to put into it. I will try and make the second round, which last year was after 6 or 7 betas. And the worst, most horrible bugs are usually discovered by then by those who did the donkey work in the first session. Yay, someone else can feel proud to be first this time around, but I'll just jump on after you've carried all the load and get to the good stuff :)

Vinyl as a mainstream format is dead and has been for a number of years. All this stuff about vinyl sales booming and 50% year on year sales increases is just bullshit, even if you double fuck all sales you are still left with fuck all sales.

Its not going to disappear though, I'm sure plenty of dance labels will continue pressing vinyl for a while to come - whilst they can still cover their costs.

Using decks and a vinyl control system won't die though, I reckon people will be using decks with Serato (or whatever) for a long, long time to come.
