aehm not everyone hits the record button all the time. and further i said: nothing analog (which isn´t that true, cause i released some acoustic/folk music which is really analogish - but no synths and this is what the thread was about).
Analog and Virtual analag hardware synths
I vote xh9o for the crappiest signature on the forum. what's up with that? can anyone see that pic on their monitor? I can't see it on the three that I tried. no clue what the text in his signature means either.

Re: Analog and Virtual analag hardware synths
Go with a Prophet 08, or buy a classic analog synth. I disagree about analogs. They sound different than softsynths, which can come close, but aren't the same in sound design. With soft synths there's all this work to try to give the oscillators movement on a sound design level, it's not even an issue with analogs.navitus wrote:I wanna have at least one hardware synth. I miss my JP8000 and Virus C.
The Moog Lil Phatty seems cool but a tad limited.
Would it be a better purchase or a new Virus ?
What about Clavia Nord, Waldorf Q , Prophet 08(analog)
....................or i could run my sofsynths through hi end preamps and comps. Whats a better route ?
Thanks
F
Because of this, they aren't really that replicable on a computer, sure you can sit there and model a Moog as close as you can on a Virus, but in the end every minute change in the filter of the Moog, every new step is another process to model. Synths on computers are basically wavetable synths, they model an oscillator maybe too perfectly.
Anyway, I like the analog sound enough to own some, but I see little point in owning hardware VA's as the computer can handle those just fine, and ones like Absynth, Zebra, Sylnth, Zeta + etc. sound great!
