Not over.
NPR just had a report on what flavor jell-O Obama likes most.
Meanwhile, Obama decides to leave a ton of troops in Iraq and *ahem* call them a different name in the hope that nobody notices....

"Obama's decision to go along with the military proposal for a "transition force" of 35,000 to 50,000 troops thus represents a complete abandonment of his own original policy of combat troop withdrawal and an acceptance of what the military wanted all along - the continued presence of several combat brigades in Iraq well beyond mid-2010."
Welcome to Bush Foreign Policy 2.0
A liberal domestic policy (good), but the same old shit with foreign policy (not so good).
Meanwhile, only the Huffington Post seems to notice.
I love how one issue - the economy - so completely replaces another - war. Just like that. So easy. Where are all the endless posters in this forum and others who were spewing spittle on their keyboards as they typed angry message after angry message; condemning Bush & Co?? Where's the outrage now? We are still in Iraq, and not likely to get out anytime soon. We are RAMPING UP in Afghanistan, FFS. We are still launching attacks into Pakistan. God knows what else. Hell, we're about to send troops to the Mexican border FFS. Here's what I get from all this:
When Bush makes War it's bad.
When Obama makes War it's not so bad? It's part of Change? It's Justified? It's Cool? It's...? I don't get it.
The press, and everyone else, seems to have moved on. I get that. Not really. Losing one's job is tough. Losing one's entire family to an errant bomb is probably tougher.
The Honeymoon is not over. It's over when somebody starts to remind Obama of his obligations and promises to end the fucking war in Iraq. Now. All out. Now. No excuses.
I'm reminded of Ron Paul's statement when he was asked how we could possibility pull out of Iraq within 30 days time - given the delicate nature of the situation there. His reply? "It's easy. You get a bunch of planes. Land them. Load up the troops. Then leave."
Done.
Sorry for the rant, people. It just drives me crazy that the economy and whether or not Obama giggles too much are the two top issues right now.
