Volume envelope for Ableton?
Volume envelope for Ableton?
i know i know, M4L.
anything i can use NOW? I'm using an auto-pan to simulate a slow attack, but that's less than awesome, as it's tied to the timeline vs the input.
thoughts?

Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
Sorry, I have no idea what you are asking? There are already two levels of volume envelopes in Ableton.
Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
good call dude, this is vague now that i realize what I'm NOT asking
the same way simpler has a volume env to control ASDR. It's if i wanted to put that on a snare drum SAMPLE. I guess i could use simpler for that too... The concept i'm looking for is THAT but with audio effects, so it's easy to drop in after whatever inst you have.
the idea is from this

Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
run it through a dummy clip with an envelope?
use the attack on a compressor?
hand edit the sample and be done with it?
give up and make trance?

Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
Are you looking for an envelope follower?
Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
destroy fx midi gater has AD settings iirc...not sure if it has sustain, so you may have to hold the midi note for as long as you want your clip to play through it.

Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
guitar rig 3 has an envelope follower if I'm not mistaken
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

destroy fx totally cool, but lookin for an audio effect.
about to try the comp thing. I totally was trying that but i didn't get it to work. trying again.

IIRC gate has an inverted function to it, the signal does pass until it gets to a certain value. then adjust its attack to taste.

Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
ableton gate also has flip mode
Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
HOLD UP
gate totally works, but it's a bit limited. It'll do the fade in like i want, but not a killer long one. SWEET

Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
mount a rack with Gate and compressor... + whatever you need to enhance
Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
the name's misleading, it works on audio, just triggered by midi. throw it on an audio track, then set a midi track "to" the audio track. still a workaround in the sense that you'll have to trigger the audio clip with the same message as the midi gate.Jekblad wrote:destroy fx totally cool, but lookin for an audio effect.
Re: Volume envelope for Ableton?
