^ nice review...stated some positives, and didn't pull any punches, which only helps both your and Nick's credibility. Thanks for that.

Nice, thanks for the review, mock :) I especially liked it because it wasn't overwhelmingly swayed one way or the other, so I know I can rely on it for honest guidance when I do the next series. Can't really argue with the negative points, they're very fairly presented. 2 things for clarification:

1) I used the phrase "basic sine wave" to distinguish it from more complex waveforms in the context of the basics of FM and timbre. This was for the benefit of users who might not have had much exposure to the ins and outs of various waveforms and why they look/sound the way they do.

2) RE: the "nerdiness" factor, I was constantly trying to establish a balance between really practical information that people could put to use right away and information that was there for background, theory, etc. When I set out to create the series, My top priority was to stray away from the heavily mathematical approaches often seen in other materials and intentionally take a different approach that people might be better able to relate to.

I sincerely appreciate the feedback - it's all going down in my notes for the next series.

Just speaking my mind.

Yes I did get that, but it was one example of what nitpickers could point out. There are a few other things like that, but I don't see how an occasional repetition or slip of the tongue can be avoided in that kind of work. (and yes I am a nitpicker myself :) ).

Oh, don't get me wrong, I believe this is the right approach and it's nice to have some intuitive guidelines. However, this is why I think an "additional resources" would be nice.

I really like the "additional resources" idea. I think I might use my blog (I know that's a bad word around here) for just this purpose once my new site is done.

Great videos. Right level of detail. Right speed. Taught a jaded (not very good) DX programmer a few things.
Thanks Nick

I don't hear it. You totally sound like Ray Romano to me. Maybe a touch of Harold Ramis.

^ Nick, you should mix in a laugh-track for the Analog tutorial:

"And here, you can modulate the oscillator with the lfo, and that's just the foreplay!" <crowd laugh track>

@GUY SMILEY Thanks man, that's great to hear :) The timing on these videos can be a downright nightmare to piece together, so that feedback is quite relieving.

@hoffman2k You ever see the Family Guy episode where they have some kind of battle between Ray Romano and Kermit the Frog? Can't remember the details atm, but I remember laughing heartily.

@Neb fantastic idea, maybe I could do a little picture-in-picture of the audience's facial reactions as well

Yeah, I actually saw the episode after I saw your videos. So I've been waiting for the setup for ages
