Crap. I reeeeeeally wish I had read through the forum before migrating to 8.04. I wouldn't have done so otherwise. Live now hangs about half the time when I perform a "save as." It's really cute, because I lose all my work.

First time I've ever been really angry with Ableton.

None of the betas performed this poorly.

It is possible to find a copy of 8.0.3 online. Ableton doesn't have it, and I'm sorry I don't have the link for you, but you can find it with some searching. Just re-install it, and you should be back up and running.

when reading things like this, im kinda glad i don't own the suite...

is it only me being a little bitter about ableton these days?
I get frequent crashes just by moving tracks around in the arrange and the manage files function sees used files as unused and deletes them. Not a single word about this from the abes.

suite 8 rocks man, i upgraded from live 7 to suite 8 last week and i'm glad i did

i didn't take me that long to install and i just love all the instruments, and now i can mix reaktor and reason with operator, analog, etc... without using way too much cpu

let's see how it goes 8)

There's a rather insane amount of pops and crackles when I zoom or scroll in Arrange in 8.0.4

The crashes, though, seem to me to be mostly related to 3rd party plugins; if I stick to Ableton's stuff,
it's mostly a smooth ride (oh, and Sylenth uno seems rock solid too =)

That said, Ableton have a lot of work to do; the way things are now, I can't use Realstrat and
Amplitube (actually, I'm not sure which of the two is the culprit). Live 7.x wasn't perfect, but
a lot more stable when it comes to 3rd party stuff.

WTF? The sound keeps dropping out of the right channel when I use any sample based plugs such as Sampletank or SONIVOX DVIs. :(

I have downloaded the latest version of the program yet it still just shuts on me whenever i carry out several different operations such as loading in vsts or changing folder loacations. Im totally confused, Ive payed for this program and cant even use it while there are probably many people out there with illegal versions that are working fine for them.

The only software that has ever messed up on me is the stuff I've payed for.

this is a really unfortunate release from ableton. Live 8 has basically made it impossible for me to DJ with the APC40. I'm going to have to switch back to seven tomorrow and recreate my whole set and hope it works before a gig.

I used to love ableton live, now i'm not so sure. 8.04 crashes/hangs when saving. moan moan. I lost a whole nights work last night as the temp folder was cleared out after a save then all the samples went offline. This is getting very annoying and time consuming, worrying if my songs will make it through to completion. Luckily I still had 8.03 installed. Live 8.04 took almost and hour to install, i just don;t habe the time in the evenings to keep installing s/w when I should be working. It's a real pain in the balls.
Sorry for the whinge but, i've spent £500 on this s/w and i'm not sure it works properly.

Is 8.0.3 hidden on Ableton's server anywhere? I reloaded Windows onto my PC and haven't gotten around to reinstalling Live yet, but i'm thinkin i prefer to install 803 instead of 804.

how frustrating.....I can't keep Live from crashing now every time I hit play. Bouncing everything to stems now to see if that helps. Crashes with NI Massive, Absynth, FM8....hangs on start up sometimes, definitely on closing, even saving. Then the audio disappears randomly on the Master. What's even worse is I upgraded from 6 to 8, so its kind of drag to go back making it 6 friendly. Probably just going to take my current projects in 8 and make stems and import in PT....which I'll probably ending shooting myself in there. Come on Abe's!!!!

I d/l'd the newest .5 beta. Tested it opening & playing w/ NI's Kore Player, and it didn't crash. Things are looking better, but I'm sticking to 8.0.3 for now.

What about users of other controllers? Less support for users of other brands now cos Ableton like to sell theit own stuff?

Might this also be the reason for not providing an industry standart eucon protocol?

What about a high quality controller with motordriven faders and a display AND support for Logic and other apps?

No - I will not switch my controllers for using Live. I'll switch Live to use my controllers.

Will wait till V9. If there are still no plans of supporting Eucon or even support controllers made for Live like Faderfox completely and bug free I'll definetly switch. Already learning Logic. Never used a DAW which FULLY supports Eucon.
