Doubt it, I'm a cheap bastard. My last three macbooks have all been craigslist purchases.
My last two PPC desktops were given to me by a friend who parted them together out of broken machines.
You can still buy the drinks though, I'm a little worried about work ATM.

Cheers @ McQ714 - u know i've been taking a piss for you pc dude's

onward

The 95% pc market share thingy is not really accurate when you take into account what macs are doing in the creative field.

For instance 97% of all graphics are done on macs within that 5%. If ya wanna count what jiffylube and Bank of America uses, rock on.

even an onboard sound card never matches an external one, the mac onboard sound cards in the laptops outperform nearly any PC card available, in terms of latency and sound plus features, like digital I/O
An internal mac soundcard better than ANY pc card?
Dude, that's just plain old ignorance.

Just to bring you into the modern world:
mac and pc soundcards are technically the same, wether they are pci, pci-x, firewire or usb.
If the manufacturer has drivers for win and osx you can just switch the card between pc and mac.
Even worse, there are only a handful of ad\da chip manufacturers around,
so there is a pretty good chance that the macbook and dell have the same chips.
What's left is drivers and core audio versus directx.
Whatever technical superiority each os has, it's always up to the manaufacturer to write the drivers;
they are responsible for quality, features and latency.
If you just look around in the support forums you see plenty of mac users with latency issues.
I've used always both pc and mac, but frankly a mac is nowadays nothing more than a pc based on intel cpu's and chipsets.
The sad part is that those mac lovers are being f*cked up the *ss by being told that it's something special.
Leave the cool for the fool.

not arguing here... just A - B the sound and compare latency with core audio vs asio.

damn, i wanted to start watching a movie... but i guess we manage to hit the 100.

It's kinda way easy.
it's all hot air.

must be great since you don't use Live and only come to the forum to chit chat on OT. it's great isn't it?!?! fun fun fun!!
yeah it's great
guys like you will lead to Ableton moderating this forum. it's a forum for a product and people post here with no regard for that product. in time there will be far more OT threads than on topic threads.

the 'old dogs' don't really post much anymore.

he?

if there is need to post on topic then it will be posted, be happy that we can have fun around here like that... that keeps us on the forum... go elsewhere you have on most sites something like 1 new post a week and / or a fluctuation of members like changing underwear because it's so boring.

don't even dare to make that forum to serious, that would be it's death... and i don't think anyone can complain of not receiving great help from many angles if a serious on topic question is asked.

i love this place for being a bit of fun as well.

axel

i don't want to offend you, but man get a life outside of here, 17.000 posts is nothing to be proud of, honestly.

maybe that is why you are so unrelaxed regarding this place. you spend to much time on here, go get a life.

sorry i like you and really don't mean to offend you... but relax, mate.

you really are one dumb motherfucker.

you say it's a fun place to post then you tell me not to post.

you say it's great to get answers but you rarely ever provide them. I get more "thanks for the help" in a week than you do in a year.

dipshit, I'm trying to protect this place, keep it from becoming a generic chat room, something that Ableton would not want. they pay for this site and maintain it to support a product, not so bored people can talk about soup recipes. clearly I post in and enjoy some OT but I keep it balanced by answering questions and I only make OT threads very rarely.

seriously, between this and the retarded mac soundcard post you made I can't believe you've lived this long without forgetting how to breath.

I am proud of my 17,000 posts. I know WAAAY more about Live and audio than you can imagine. think about it fuckwit. I've also helped literally hundreds of people, that feels good. I really dig that people ask questions about OTHER products and they get answers. I don't see you contributing to that. props for your local user group, I really respect that, but then you post stupid shit to me and I can't help but question your common sense.

don't fuck with me and I won't fuck with you. if you want to bring it, it's broughten, beyotch.

Hmm, well in all sincerity, i'll leave the forum for good if enough ask me too. Really, i'd never hang-out were i'm not welcomed for whatever reason/s. No bs.

Ok, so i've noticed a pretty stiff effort on your part to limit the number of ot posts in general. This is a new development for you. How is it so ott as to single out ppl for it. Why kick the dime-bag buyers in the shins when you have influence over the dealers. Just lobby for a new section bro. Your a full fledged moderator at this point right?

I say it because someone has to.

how am I a moderator? the cool thing is that we're all moderators. the Abes have stated that this place flows how we all generally agree it should, just no porn, no racism and try to watch your mouth.

I wouldn't want to be a moderator, I'd prefer to shoot my mouth off without that hanging over my head.

there are posters that do little more than make OT threads. Starving Student is awful for this. I'll pick on him if it numbs your pussy.

seriously, you're posting on a forum for a product you don't use just to argue mac vs pc?
