Now, that is no way to speak to a lady now, is it?
McQ714 wrote:where is your sense of adventure?
My sense of adventure is fulfilled and satisfied by perusing the goals my tools help facilitate, it is not fulfilled and satisfied by actually making those tools

No. I usually ask a big tough man to help me with those sorts of things. Um,, what are you doing later, i need to tape sex in the city so i can watch it when i get home from my make over.

For what it's worth, I wish they'd just add an Off Topic subforum too. I'd rather cruise music related subjects and what not, and leave all the OT stuff in a subforum, but you're right, we're the minority on that.

Euphonix being one that comes to mind. and if Apple would make Logic for Windows again, their software sales would increase greatly i think.
What a crock. OSX is unix underneath, it's as configurable as you want it to be, people use it to operate unix servers every day for instance. That some office peripheral doesn't work with OSX because the company decided not to support macs is irrelevant to using macs as a home studio and live performance tool. Argue points that make sense, like that you can build a PC for cheaper, fine, but arguing that some gay ass office peripheral that prints receipts on carbon paper for your accounting business doesn't support mac so therfore PC is better, is as gay as the Mac VS PC adds, and that's pretty gay.

PS- I really think the term gay shouldn't be associated with homosexuals, there's really no other term that says "happy, bouncy airhead, inefectual etc." as succinctly as gay, and we need to take the word away from an insult on homosexuality, or come up with a term to replace it with. :?

The problem is they don't want to have to police the forums, and if OT threads get posted in the other threads they have to police. That was their explanation and it makes sense. The least amount of moderation the better IMO. It's possible to fit almost all live related questions into tips and tricks and error and problem anyway.

what's even funnier is the guy that doesn't know shit about computers telling me that Macs are better than PCs. i know PCs and i know how to build and optimize one and once that is done, outperforms Macs all day long. it's not about the OS or the mind-set that OS X is easier to use. it is about what's inside that box we call a computer case. and i'll be damned if i spend twice the amount of money for lesser parts. that's just common sense. you want to run OS X... that's fine. build your own Hackintosh and save money. make the smart choice is all that i'm saying. my PC will always run better than your Mac. because i can always upgrade a component or two to keep it ahead of the game if need be. can't wait to rebuild next year with the next series of AM3 quad core processors overclocked to 4 ghz and DDR3 RAM. i'm sure that Apple will eventually put an i7 CPU in the Mac Pro, but it will still cost too much.

k i'm done with this OT thread.. let's all agree to end it :!: :?: :!:

well, start a thread! ;)

shout out to DJSynchro for illustrating my point with his 'sucking' thread. I hope he gets a chance to read this before he gets banned.

glad to hear from others on that topic, it sheds light on what the community is thinking.

I'm assuming this might be a reference to me.
McQ714 wrote: what's even funnier is the guy that doesn't know shit about computers telling me that Macs are better than PCs.
In which case, i am not telling any one that Macs are better than PC's.
All i am saying is is that as a Mac owner i don't have to worry about any of the stuff you then allude to here,,,
McQ714 wrote: i know PCs and i know how to build and optimize one and once that is done, outperforms Macs all day long.
And that might well be true..

I do agree with this next part..
McQ714 wrote:it's not about the OS or the mind-set that OS X is easier to use.
True...
But this next part just confirms what i have been saying all along..
McQ714 wrote: it is about what's inside that box we call a computer case. and i'll be damned if i spend twice the amount of money for lesser parts. that's just common sense. you want to run OS X... that's fine. build your own Hackintosh and save money. make the smart choice is all that i'm saying.
because it supports my justification for buying Mac's.
For me time is money, and i don't want to spend that time building some thing that i have to research and investigate, and that may or may not work with all of the parts i need to find and assemble.
And i most certainly do not want the extra added head ache of running an unsupported OS on unsupported hardware(Hackingtosh),, if your a Geek, fine. However, if your like the majority of us then thats just plain crazy thinking 8O.
And so, I am quite happy to spend the extra money knowing some one much cleverer than me has done all of this home work for me so all i need to do is plug the damned thing in and get on with using it to do the things i am much happier learning about.
McQ714 wrote:my PC will always run better than your Mac.

McQ714 wrote: because i can always upgrade a component or two to keep it ahead of the game if need be,,,
followed by a whole bunch of geek talk that mac users will never have to concern then selves with having to understand
and that also further supports my claim that Macs are easier to use.
