Again, what you are talking about requires an unGodly amount of R&D capital to get going. The JazzMutant guys were only able to get the Lemur built because they had money coming in from other endeavors; at least that's what I understood. It was a huge gamble that they took to dive into the touchscreen arena, but since they were part of a handful of devs from around the world who were actually CREATING the technology, they were in a unique position to move forward.9V wrote:dream

1. They don't have the capital; nor do the have the in-house capability to dev new hardware/OS/software for touchscreen tech.
2. They would have to partner with someone that has the tech available. No one does, or else we'd already be seeing it in the marketplace. There's new touchscreen tech being developed every day, but new hardware/OS that would be specific to one industry type like music/audio? No fucking way.
On the subject of plugins: On one hand it would be awesome to have some sort of universal plugin standard for music apps. On the other hand; given the complete fuckery that plugins have caused since their creation, maybe it's not such a good idea.
