Last time it took 5 minutes to receive an email with confirmation of account reset to get my live 7 unlocked on my other g4 because i reached the unlock limit.
One time Christian Kleine responded.I like his music alot.
The fact that artists are involved in the support process is beautiful.
Average time for ableton support for me is 1 hour.Sometomes they responded almost instantly sometimes after 1-2 hours.
This is what i call support.
Good work guys.
why are people like you writing this here? obviously you have not had a problem. good for you. unfortunately others are having major problems. i wrote tech support yesterday and i received a prompt email this morning saying they could not help me and that i need to contact customer care (um, i already did that...10 days ago). thanks, ableton. i'll get writing another email and i'll make another long distance phone call to the sleepy-heads at the ny office who could have given me the crossgrade others have been offered in the first place.

i can not believe what i am going through to get this upgrade. hands down the worst customer care and product release in the history of major applications to my knowledge.

this is the email i wrote them. i am not jumping through anymore hoops. if they're selectively offering crossgrade discounts on the suit upgrade to some, but not others, then it's their karma. it's been 10 days since this original email.

"welcome to ableton technical support. this machine doesn't accept messages. thank you"

Call Germany, that helped in my case -- finally got an email back! Still waiting for a follow-up though. I'd be pretty frustrated by now, if only I was more excited about this update.

screw this. it would take allot more than 10% off at this point for me to buy anything more from ableton. they just lost a few hundred dollars from me on the suite upgrade and i probably will phase out ableton live eventually. these guys are great software developers, but they are also pretentious little twits. too greedy and full of themselves to staff properly and offer support to the people purchasing their product. i just can't fucking believe that i'm begging to get a price and some support after spending a combined total of $1485 in the last 2 years between ableton and aas. (149 + 199 + 349 + 119 + 119 + 550).

btw... that is really allot of money to spend supporting software development for a poor amateur musician like myself.

and for those of you who will flame me...i was patient for the first 9 days and before i realized "it just depends on who you talk to" to get the right price.

:( ...must be patient :(

I finally got an e-mail w/ my Edu confirmation yesterday. Paid via paypal, and now I just wait for the box... or more likely to arrive sooner, the serials so I can start bangin' away on this stuff. :o)

if its the box it should be ready to go. if its the download, that is the one you need to wait for authorization.

Calling is generally faster than emailing.

My PayPal went through last Friday 2 minutes past 6PM... no new Live over the weekend damn! Today (Monday) I rang around 7PM whilst on the phone the Abletonian looked up my payment, found it, 10 minutes later I had my serial!

Hmm... Maybe I'll try calling then. I sent out my payment yesterday, so I'll give it a few days, but it would be nice to play w/ Live 7 and the new instruments (and be able to SAVE) until my Suite box arrives.

Hi all,

again, we're really sorry if your orders may take a few days.
The customercare team is working hard and in nearly all cases it is really only a matter of a short while to get them processed.
On the positive side this shows the great excitement for Live 7 and this is good for us all!
Please also bear in mind that this is only a short phase now and everything will be back to normal very soon.

Also we would be happy to hire as many people as we need to handle all your requests always within our regular 1-2 days "latency", even in the first few days and weeks of the initlal release run. But it is hard to get good people for just a few weeks and keeping teams of the size we need during the release burst throughout the whole year is simply not cost-effective, it would again reflect on the product pricing etc.
Please understand that we love to do things in person and with quality. We would hate to fall back on third party callcenters - so we promise to be as responsive as possible.
If you think something is going wrong with your particular order, request or email communication in general, or even get the impression we're ignoring you - just give us a call - we are human after all.

darthstephen: i'm sorry about your case, obviously it is a slightly special one. As i understand the situation, initially there was only an AAS crossgrade offer available when ordering single instruments. You and others complained about this and Sara promised a special 10% discount for the suite in such cases right here in the forum. I think that's fair. You sent your ownership documents to Berlin and i promise it will be handled over here by our customercare team just like all other orders - but as this seems not to be an offer that was initiially available, it takes a bit longer to get processed via email. It has to be taken care of individually here in order to satisfy you and i'm sorry that it also couldn't be solved in the NY office - it is not their fault, they just don't handle those orders normally. i'm sure calling the customercare team's number, as shown on the contact page, would have straightened this out in a moment. Technical support also answered your email right away, pointed you to the right contact and asked you for some patience, as our team is simply not able to comment or confirm order pricings.
In a nutshell: Trust me, customercare is really taking care, but please give them some time in case of this special discount situation. Thanks for your understanding.

Cheers,
Dom
