4.5 Audio Clips and Samples
An audio clip contains a reference to a sample (also known as a "sound file" or "audio file")
or a compressed sample (such as an MP3 file). The clip tells Live where on the computer’s
drives to find the sample, what part of the sample to play and how to play it.

You might have already understood I'm a newbe.
Resuming a Sample could be considered as a subcategory of a clip.
I mean if a clip is areference to sample we could therefore have MIDI clips and audio clips. So I could easily change the library/sample directory intoto library/clips/sample
Isn't it so??

these are 2 different standards of so-called plug-ins; these are either virtual instruments, or effects (audio or midi) from other companies than ableton
