Clean re install macbook pro

Post by bailey68 » Wed May 05, 2010 9:35 am

Hi Guys,

i need to a complete reinstall of ableton suite 8.1.3

Can anyone help guide me through it?

Maybe its the only to cure this problem with it freezing on start up.

It also can't find the company support directory now.

OSX

yesterday ableton became unstable, its started to freeze on initializing application, then i couldn't shut it down, so have to restart macbook pro.

Now the start up screen is black & white.

Maybe best to start again.

You could try trashing the preferences file Preferences.cfg in ~/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live 8.1.n this is often the cause of crashes or hangs on startup. Also there may be some crash logs in there which may give a clue about what is going on. Are there any messages in Applications/Utilities/Console ?

These are quite old crash reports mate, the newest is from Dec 2009 with you on osx 10.4 and Live 8.1

There is not much going on in the console log either, some messages about a contextual menu item problem which seems to be connected with the Download Accelerator Plugin for Safari, but I doubt that it is connected.

Sorry not much to go on so far
