Audio dropouts when changing instrument patches

Post by pfitzsimons » Thu Sep 07, 2017 3:15 pm

So I have a major problem, that is, when I change instrument patches when performing I sometimes get complete audio dropouts that last 1-2 seconds. This has happened at gigs

My system: mid-2012 MBP 2.3GHZ i7, 512SSD, 16GB RAM; running at 128 and CPU hovers between 30-50%.

I'm playing clips, live guitar and synth guitar. I have 12 instruments (some Ableton, some not) on a chain selector which I've mapped to 12 buttons on a midi controller. Patches are set to turn on and off, so only one instrument is turned on at a time.

The midi controller I'm using to control the chain selector is a KMI K-Mix, and it's settings are set to Track & Remote on Input and Output.

Would be thankful for advice. Let me know if I can provide more info. I really need to figure this out, obviously!!!

Try disable the option in Preferences "Reduce Latency When Monitoring"

It gets set ON by default but if you are not doing live monitoring of inputs could help with the issue.

Thanks for the tip. In this case, Reduce Latency When Monitoring is not on, however...
