If you're interested in crazy Arp/Seq type stuff (on the cheap too) check out Numerology (MacOSX only). It's got a bit of a learning curve, but is a perfect compliment to Live for all things MIDI. (automation, dynamic processing, sequencing, etc)

Midinam Patch and NoteList recognition
Hi,
Loving Live4 so far. Great stuff.
I'm a MacOSX user and noticed that both DP4 and ProTools use .midinam XML files for listing Patch, Bank, and Note (for drum kits) names and lists. Any chance a future version of Live could search for the appropriate .midinam files and use them for display ...

The EZBus does indeed work great in Live, you'll want to edit its profile templates tho, and for that you'll need a PC or VPC since the only OSX app for the EZBus is a profile loader. However, with VPC saving the file to the folder that the OSX Profile loader uses works great.

4.01 on OSX crashes on quit (intermittent)
Hey,
Subject says it all, sometimes, with any new, saved, or other Live session, with 10.3.4 and 10.3.5 upon closing the session or quitting the application, Live appears to quit properly then gives an 'unexpected quit' notice as if it has crashed..
hope this helps,
fugu

Re: how about m-audio? or motif as a controller for live?
anybody tried one of the little m audio usb keyboards with live?
I was thinking of the one with 49 keys.
Will a motif work as a controller for live?
as I mentioned earlier, a good midi controller should outlast any and all software by many years, you'll want one that can physically standup to ...

for Live v3, i'd say it's kinda useless to have a 'keyboard' controller.. (for Live v4 however , that's an different story. )
If one were to just look at MIDI controllers (regardless of the application), I'd say (based on it's complete command over any and all midi commands including sysex strings ...
