VST's you can have anywhere you want since you can just point Live to the folder where they reside, although usually the will tend to go to something like program files/VST plugins which makes more sense than to put the in "documents" (plugins are not documents). Hi, I did this 80 times with my old system and is fine. Now I'm trying to install Soundtoys VST into live 8, 64 bit and is a nightmare. Windows 7. Hi guys...I'm transferring everything from xp to windows 7.

1- I lost the steinberg folder...is not anymore on programs files
2-just download a few soundtoys plugings 64 bit, I see it in my iLok but not sure where to put the plug ing...what directory..

On your XP machine - are you using the "Collect and Save" function so that all project files have been copied into a common directory? I didn't know I had a "collect and save" function.... My first album is in a folder in the desktop (I know is wrong I guess) and my second album that I'm currently ...

it's inevitable that there will be missing files. do your best first time and then open all your projects and copy the files from the old place until they all work unless you stored everything in one directory - which I used to do in Live 8 - but then Live 9 came along and wrecked my backup strateg...

Updating live 8 from 32 to 64 bits

Hi guys, I own live 8 and normally I work on my laptop workstation. Windows xp.
I just bought a massive desktop workstation (windows 7) but it is 64 bit. Can I install my current live 8 32 bit into a 64 bit system... If I upgrade to live 9 can I do 64 bit...

of course...now I opened a song in Live, really heavy on filters, and layers and clicks again....I guess I'll have to mess around again with the firewire driver and buffer size...
