Hi,
I've bought an APC20 today and in Live 8.1 there is just an APC40 listed under the remote controllers. When I chose that it doesn't work.
Is the apc20 supported with version 8.1 actually?
Have I really need to install this shipped Live – Akai Professional APC Edition (lite)?
Please not ...

Hi,
I have to recover a formated hard drive in raw mode (recovery by file signatures) to recover Ableton Live Project files.
Can anyone tell me the file signature of Live alp files under windows, please?
The signature are the first two hex characters when you open the file with a hex editor.

Live quick reinstall
Hi,
I have to reinstall Windows and have a lot of plug-ins and libraries installed. Is there a way to get the plug-ins and the libraries quicker into live after a reinstall. Because it takes hours to reinstall all the plugins and libraries again...
Thanks,
M.

Re: Attempt at deep house
The track isn't mastered, and I don't know exactly what reverb-effect you mean. Can you give an example?
I mean the reverb of the keys starting at the beginning and also the snare reverb sounds very good.
I'm still working on my skills for getting a goog reverb sound. But I'm affraid having a ...

Re: [housey] So Long
Thanks again for the kind words :)
I know what you mean Musozo, I tend to layer too much stuff and forget to let the elements breathe once in a while. While I like the effect, sometimes it's better to have more focus on things I guess. It's just so tempting to think 'well, this could sound nice ...

Re: better midi recording in arrangement view (video inside)
I also don't use this mothod very often, but you are right, this is not the best way Ableton has solved it.
Try to stop recording between the notes maybe.
but +1 for a better solution!

And are you mastering by your self?

Like it also: the mix and the sound.
But sometimes I would wish a bit more transparency in the sound to hear the different instruments more for them self, or was it your intention to do it exactly like this?

Re: first house track on ableton
Not bad for the first one.
But the bass sound and the drum set doens't sound very interesting.
Keep also working on the sound quality with EQs. First try to avoid overlapping frequencies, but don't use a spectrummeter use your ears and couple of good monitor speakers! The more you are working with ...

Re: External Instrument/Effect with Lexicon MX400
I'm using the External Effect audio effect with my mx200. It is very useful and I'm very happy with it because otherwise I'd have to set two return tracks if you want to use mono-split routing and an additionaly two audio track for routing back the external signal. Do this twice for your mx400 with ...

Linear Phase EQ
I searched but could find this wish before so:
I would very appreciate a linear phase eq with 10 bands!
It's really necessary for eq-ing of samples or mastering without changing the character of the material. A linear phase eq sounds so transparent and clean and sometimes you need this ...

Re: Better Reverb
I like the sound of the Ableton Reverb and its functions. It has its own character (actually three: quality low, medium and high ;-) . Ok, it's not my first choice for realistic reverb effects, for this I'd rather prever my external Lexicon, but it sounds very nice e.g. for gated reverbs on snares ...
