Live 12.4 (Sequoia): .asd files created on export and Video Full Screen is broken

Hi,

Since updating to 12.4 on macOS Sequoia, I’ve run into two issues that are messing up my workflow:

.asd files on Export: Live is now creating an .asd file every time I render a master. This never happened before in previous versions unless I was importing or recording. It’s very annoying to ...

True SMPTE-Lock / Tempo-Independent Audio in Live — A Real-World Problem

Hi all, I want to describe a workflow issue I hit recently that I think exposes a fundamental gap in Live's handling of tempo maps with multitrack recordings.
The scenario :
I have a session recorded with real musicians, no click track. Multiple audio tracks, all recorded simultaneously. I want to ...

Keeping an Ableton instrument in focus

I am using an external sequencer (Drambo) which controls Ableton via MIDI.
5 tracks, each one routed to a different MIDI channel control 5 MIDI tracks in Ableton.
All goes well BUT...
One Ableton track has an operator instrument on it which of course cannot be detached or opened to another window ...

1. Only the 8 macros
2. Drift yes, Drum racks using samples too. But Wavetable no.
3. TBH, this is tricky as it's designed for 4/4. But you can workaround it with the loop length.
4. Nope.
Thanks!

Move as a controller

Hi, I really like move's concept. I have a couple of questions if anyone can answer them it would be great since I'm really considering being an early buyer:

1. Using it as a live controller, can you scroll through the instrument's parameters or are you just stuck to the 8 macros?

2.Is it possible ...

12.1 and no video/post love. Zero.

I use Ableton on a daily basis for a living, professional work. Scoring to video is fast, beautiful, smart and elegant. There also are a few really basic features missing, bread and butter. They make working against video, in certain situations, something clumsy and cumbersome. We don't have them ...

Re: video playback compnensation manually?

As long as you're not adding latency plugins during the process, i.e if the overall latency stays the same from start to finishing your project (not easy!), then the delay doesn't really matter while you're working since it doesn't move.
A trick could be using a dummy track where you put a plugin ...

Re: video playback compnensation manually?

Ableton, it's 2024.
Can we please get a statement on what the company thinks about this?

is it a priority?

Making video work is really hard this way. The DAW features a lot of video opportunities, so it seems to be a part of the DAW's concept.

It really needs to be fixed. Thanks for listening

Re: Live 11 TV / Film scoring?

I also do professional work here in Argentina.
Live is the best tool for me, the one that makes me more creative.

Biggest problem for me is not being able to change the project tempo without loosing all the syncs in the middle of a job. There has to be a way to lock the clips to absolute SMPTE time ...

Re: is PDC fixed in 12?

Probably because Live isn't designed for Post production form the get go.

I would bet 90% of users don't use video in it, so low priority.

That's just a biased bet, the fact that you don't need it doesn't make it low priority.

In the manual , they mention sync to video in lots of ...

Re: is PDC fixed in 12?

Just adding my 2 cents here...

It's 2023 and video is not latency compensated in Ableton. Hard to me to understand how this is not considered a major issue to resolve.

So much needed. Give us at least one standard option to recieve projects from the outside world. AAF or OMF would do.

Sync to video, urgently needed.

I use Live to score to picture on a daily basis, music and sound design. I love how fluent and creative the software makes me be, despite several major flaws when syncing to video.

Please , pretty please, with a cherry on top Ableton, can we have the following two features ASAP? Really hard to ...
