why are you wanting to do it that way?
can't you just map the button on the pitch plug-in?
Do you mean, map the knob? If so- yes, thats what I am doing. I'm mapping my keyboard (notes c-1, c1) to the pitch knob.
The ultimate goal of this, is to be able to have a bunch of clips of "chord ...

Re: Can any ableton masters figure this out...
So yeah, the IAC routing is because i can't get live to do this using its own internal routing. It seems that whenever a clip is playing back notes, Live Ignores midi note data from other tracks that is being routed to that same track (it probably assumes this is a mistake). So basically when I try ...

Can any ableton masters figure this out...
Ok, so my goal is to create a live session where I can create a step sequence on one midi track, and then use the midi in on another track to transpose the step sequence. (Sort of like what the pro one or Elektron's A4 can do).
I managed to get this working by using one track (the transpose track ...

Re: Midi note to control pitch? or workaround?
Cool, thanks for the help! - Got it working by using the IAC bus and then recording a clip of me setting the transpose control and playing it back in midi assign mode.
Only thing left is to figure out how to offset the tracks so it always catches the first note of the pattern.

Midi note to control pitch? or workaround?
So what Im trying to do is to use one track for midi patterns (sort of like an advanced arpeggiator) and I would like to use another track to control the transposition of these patterns.
But... I can't figure out a way to do this. I thought I could assign the notes (from the first track) to the knob ...

Re: Shoutout to STRAY (NativeKontrol)!
I must say that when I first saw the video of push, I though to myself "why would I pay $600 for the things I can already do with LPC". It's a shame if ableton is not even consulting with him.

Re: Crackling driving me crackers in Ableton!
I have a similar issue on my mac, I don't think it is actually related to the avid core audio manager. I say this because I first had this problem with my Mbox mini, but I have now switched to a different computer and a different interface and still have this problem (and I specifically didn't ...

yes, do a search for "the covert operators" I think they released a live pack that had a ton of different scales.

Cool, I will check out that video in a bit. The problem with starting over is that I have already put my "go to" samples in racks, so I don't need to go searching through the browser whenever I'm looking for drums etc...

Re: Ughhh... Please tell me there's an easier way to do this....
@simmerdown, sorry if it wasn't clear. Its just the default way that drum racks work if you don't have suite. Each sample you drop onto a pad creates a simpler to play the dropped sample. I'm sure you already know that. So just 1 drumrack containing 128 samples each on their own pad. It's just that ...

Re: Ughhh... Please tell me there's an easier way to do this....
@simmerdown Yes... thats what I'm currently doing.
I previously only had simpler, and simpler can only hold one sample at a time.
@tempus3r yeah, I can convert simplers to samplers now, but that won't really help, as I will just have 128 individual samplers in a drum rack, instead of 128 simplers ...

Ughhh... Please tell me there's an easier way to do this....
Ok, So I have built a bunch of drum racks (using simpler) with my most commonly used Kicks, snares etc... basically the "128's" idea, but made with simpler and some fancy midi routing. This allowed me to use one knob to change through all the drums in each drum rack. Anyway, I took advantage of the ...

Re: Playing live with a laptop - constructive advice/suggestions
Nope. We always used whatever the venue had for vocals. But we also never had any kind of effects on vocals. Drums also went with whatever the venue usually did for drums. (actually we did use triggers for one tour, but it was a disaster- so we went back to acoustic drums) Sometimes that was miking ...

Re: Playing live with a laptop - constructive advice/suggestions
Hmm... I suppose I have to weigh up whether I should be mixing the 8 tracks that come from Ableton within Live, rather than at a mixer? D'you not think it would be the same difference (forgetting the other instruments for a minute) - if the 8 tracks in Live were mixed in Live?
Yeah, I think you'd ...
