I'd like to use a control surface with motorized faders for mixing in Ableton.
What do you guys/gals use for this?

Does Ableton support motorized faders?

Running Live 7 for the first time. (Live 7.0.7)
Usually I'm in Logic Pro.

I open up the plug ins I normally use in Logic and they're performing very poorly in Live 7. I'm getting clicks/pops and drop outs at almost every buffer setting (for both global audio and plug in buffer settings).

I don't ...

I want something with quick timing and reliable drivers.

Trigger Finger?
PadKontrol?
Akai MPD?


Or should I just learn to use my MIDI keyboard keys better?

Yes but you have to go through a rigorous application process.

Even the bigger independent labels are going through digital distribution companies like CD Baby to get their artists onto iTunes.

I'm having a similar issue.
Right out of the box (without changing any of the presets) I plugged it in and the system wasn't recognizing it (in either Logic or Live).

Yet all my other MIDI devices were still able to input midi (I have a 4 port midi interface and another on my soundcard with an 02 ...

Can't you just open it up as a vst/au plug in?

Did anyone jump on this yet?

I can't seem to find where the Impulse samples are stored.
I found the presets, but not the actual samples.

So where are they?
Does Live have a specific place for them?

There is a lot less that can go bad on an MPC compared to a computer

The question here is where Ableton is reading the clips from.
The memory or the hard drive?

For example in software samplers (such as EXS-24, Battery, etc...) the samples are triggered from the memory, NOT from the hard-drive.

However in DAW's (Logic, Cubase) the "tracks" are read off the drive ...
