It backups your whole system in a .dmg file (depends on the settings you do in ccc).

in our studio setup we have a g4 350 tower and two g3pismo400 laptops. i set it up like follows.

on the big tower i had logic 5.3 under os9 with an amt8 > from there it goes to an mt4 in the first laptop running live > from ...

i have the same pismo as you have
a friend of mine has a g4titan

pros of g3pismo:
you can do two batteries in it with cd/dvd removed
you have a sound in
you have two firewire ports
you have a s-vhs out

cons g3pismo:
no burner inside
speed (compared to g4)

pros g4titan:
burner inside
speed
bigger ...

... would be an OMF export function in reason like in logic and finalcut

BUT as far as i know reason does not have that function yet

hey i've just checked the new logic 5.3 X and it works fine on our g4 350. the only thing that's not so cute is the graphic performance but this is an OSX-problem.
even though we don't have support for our digidesign 001. on their website is no word about OS X. a little disappointing.
