Yes you would have to assemble it yourself but it's very easy to find instructions online and/or take it to any local computer shop and pay a small fee to have them assemble it for you if you felt safer doing it that way.
As far as graphics are concerned it depends if you plan to use software like ...

Re: How can I control the pitch knob with the keyboard?
Insert and disable multiple instances of the Pitch effect into your midi track and give them each the appropriate semitone shift.
Disable your Computer MIDI Keyboard in the top right corner (Ctrl+Shift+K)
Enter Key Map Mode (Ctrl+K) and bind the effect on/off button of each instance to a different ...

Re: scroll through drum rack?
If you use Enigma (I think that's still the M-Audio config software) then you can bind the pads to play a different octave in each user preset, then use the bank/recall function to load between the different banks without involving the mouse, I have the Evolution predecessor to the axiom 25 (evo mk ...

Re: nanokontrol help. Not in control surfaces.
If it's anything like its sibling the nanokey then it wont show up in the Control Surface list but you should still be able to select it in the Input and Output boxes assuming you have the correct drivers for it.

Re: How to have Audio/Midi tracks always start at -10db???
I'm not sure if there is a normal way to edit the default track state but you can get 3rd party scripts (such as the one mentioned on this site ) that would let you preconfigure a newly inserted track to have the -10db you wanted but I'm not sure if it would let you add external plugins like ...

Re: sample audition doesn't appear
The preview tab should be there automatically on File browsers 1, 2 and 3, there is no toggle on/off for it. Try selecting the file you want to preview inside your browser and pressing shift+enter or your right arrow key, in theory it will preview the sample whether or not you can see the preview tab.

Re: USB Keyboard: M-Audio Axiom Pro vs. Axiom 2nd generation?
"HyperControl and DirectLink are 2 very different systems. Both feature automatic mapping of sliders, knobs and transport buttons to DAW parameters, but HyperControl communicates bi-directionally with DAWs and offers extensive parameter mapping and plug-in control. DirectLink does not have bi ...

Re: DIY HUI Control?
Software such as Bome's Midi Translator (PC) or MidiPipe (Mac OSX) would allow you to trigger a key combination with a basic midi cc or any note. The only real difficulty with that solution would be setting up the midi translator and finding the correct shortcut key combination to bind it to.

Re: How to have Audio/Midi tracks always start at -10db???
Open a new live set, set your Audio/Midi channels to -10db then go to Options > Preferences and in the File Folder tab click "Save current set as default". Every time you open a new live set it will load the channels at -10db and you can just duplicate the channel to make more.
